  1. Swiss vote whether to expel foreigners for minor crimes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35680760
  2. Chris Martin, Bono, Bob Geldof, Brian May........zere names vill also go on ze list !
  3. We've always gone to EasipetCare.......even though it's now a 70 mile round trip ! All the dogs were spayed there, at around half the cost of other vets, and the hob was castrated last month for £27.50. It you can get to a branch, I'd recommend them!
  4. Having been a public sector worker in several fields, over the years, I can tell you that teachers, social workers and the like are very left-leaning. The most active political groups among these workers are usually the Labour party and SWP. During it's day, Militant had a large representation among what we used to call council workers, where nearly every union rep belonged to Militant, Socialist Worker or one of the incarnations of the Communist Party, and support was high for groups like the old Anti Nazi League and the Anti Poll Tax campaign. I worked in a London housing office completely
  5. Another thing that has many names...... What do we call a local shop that sells alcohol (apart from "the Paki's !). When I was a lad it was "the beer off", but I know it has other names around the country.
  6. I was literally raised for the first 18 years of my life right next to Newark and can hardly understand that bollocks. LOLLovely town, shame about its inhabitants! LOL LOL Lol I'm not from there but worked in the past with a few that are ...strange bunch lol I doesn't help that it's read by Stephen Hawkin, but that I got that...ya daft bat !
  7. Germany reports disappearance of 130,000 asylum seekers - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35667858
  8. A jitty is a new one on me. Where does that come from? East Midlands. According to wikipedia it's a Derbyshire/Leicestershire term. I was raised around Linc's/Nott's/Leic's. Colloquialisms have always fascinated me. I think it started when you're a kid and met other kids on holiday from all over the place. They'd ask if you wanted to play a game which you'd never heard of but when they explained the rules it was a game you had a different name for (and even some more rules but the principle of the game remained). For some reason we ended up calling football "togger" when I was growing up. "

  10. A jitty is a new one on me. Where does that come from? East Midlands. According to wikipedia it's a Derbyshire/Leicestershire term. I was raised around Linc's/Nott's/Leic's. In Nottingham, it's a twitchel.....
  11. When Mrs Merkel, in her infinite wisdom, grants them European documentation, it won't be a question of "letting them in", they will have automatic right of free entry into any European member country....... I'm guessing they won't go to Bulgaria !
  12. What's that mean Neil ? That the "powers that be" in Republican party will find some way to derail his campaign ?
  13. Much like they were saying when Brown refused to join the euro. ......and every other time that a British PM has opted out of one of their crackpot ideas !
  14. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/6947839/Tell-your-parents-youve-converted-to-Islam-School-sparks-controversy-with-bizarre-homework-assignment.html
  15. The fact that he's got this far shows the deep mistrust of politicians in America and all over Europe. Here is a man who could receive his party's endorsement to run for President of the USA.......arguably the highest political office in the world....... ....here is a man of no political experience whatsoever !
  16. You're British, part of the union, if Britain votes out then you're out, things might have been different if the Scottish people had voted for independence but they didn't. time will tell , its been made clear, indy ref 2 will happen if scotland is forced to leave the eu Why is it "clear".......... Scotland voted to stay as part of the UK. If the UK then votes to leave the EU, why should the Scottish vote have more authority than the English, Welsh or Northern Irish ?? You get your "one man, one vote" the same as everyone else.
  17. What's the difference between Mike Tyson and Barack Obama ? Tyson can take a shot to the head........
  18. Just think yourself lucky it's only once.........
  19. I like my girlfriends the same as my whisky........ 12 years old and with a good measure of Coke !
  20. He has a better than evens chance......... a late surge for Rubio or Cruz on "Super Tuesday" (March 1st, I think) is all I can see stopping him, but the win by either of them will have to be decisive. He doesn't really have any opposition from the Democrats, either. Bernie Sanders is a self-confessed socialist (almost a profanity over there), while Hillary will learn that the Clinton legacy isn't necessarily a good one, just as Jeb struggled to shrug off his brothers name. I'm not a fan, in fact I think he's a bit of a prat.......but he at least has the courage to speak his opinions out
  21. How many Muslims does it take to change a light bulb ? None - they'd rather sit in the dark and blame the Jews !
  22. My grandfather was treated terribly by the Nazis....passed over for promotion loads of times ! I'm only joking........he died in a concentration camp. Got pi55ed and fell out of a watchtower !
  23. You're right, most views are entrenched, so the vote will swing on the few percentage of "undecideds". And that's where someone like Boris Johnson comes in...... Boris is well known, Boris is popular. Boris gets interviewed, Boris gets on the news. Now, I'm not a particular fan of Boris Johnson, but he brings a certain gravitas to the cause. Without him, the "Leave" campaign has a failed former Tory leader, a couple of ministers no-one ever heard of, Nigel Farage (definitely the Marmite politician) and George Galloway (the less said the better !). News crews were camped outside his ho
  24. "We will never join the Euro" - it was never going to happen. Never, ever an issue !"No involvement in "ever-closer union" - we've never had any and have been exempt since Thatchers days ! "Opting out of open border schemes" - we already have and had no intent of ever taking part ! "Safeguards for financial operations in the City" - the government has gone to the European court several times, to challenge EU policy on banking, claiming it is too restrictive ! So most of the conditions of our "new, special relationship" already exist and have for some time ! Lies upon lies upon lies ! But,
  25. Reminds me of the time I was wondering why some Europeans are very particular, with a great attention to detail. So, I was searching "German anal" when the wife walked in..........
