  1. I once read that Paul Daniels had MAG 1C, and Jimmy Tarbuck had COM 1C (Trade Descriptions, surely ?). But i once worked for a firm, where the director had one of those big, old-fashioned Jaguars.....B19 BOY
  2. It's pretty clear that the "Leave" campaign is in the majority here, and my colours were clearly nailed to the mast long ago, but I've a question, whatever side of the argument you're on.......... Is there anything, anything at all, any concession, any policy change or any agreement that could persuade you to change your mind ?
  3. For Elizabeth, England and Saint George !
  4. That's what the powers that be are constantly trying to move us towards - closer integration, more unity, increased homogeneity, a breaking down of borders.........what they are actually getting is the opposite - borders fences, an increase in nationalism, divisions between the richer and poorer staes and the growth of right wing parties !
  5. Some of the rumours about him could just be exactly that....just as with Michael Jackson, who actually started many of the stories about himself. There was the famous episode of changing his name to an unpronounceable symbol, (which simply turned out to be a dispute with his record label). There was the apparent obsession with the colour purple, his statement that "time is a trick" and the suggestion that he went without sleep. He was a Jehovah's Witness, who themselves have some strange beliefs, but if he didnt deliberately build a persona of mystery, he certainly allowed it to happe
  6. If the scenario was that the UK left Europe, then Scotland voted to leave the UK, they would have to apply to re-join the European Union, in their own right....... .......which requires that applicant economies meet pretty demanding criteria. A more pertinent question might be "Could the Scottish economy meet the criteria to be considered for EU membership ?".
  7. Which is why it's important to hold on to what we have left. The monarchy isn't about the holder of the office - to me, she represents continuity, stability and tradition. God save the Queen !
  8. God bless her and everything she represents ! Long may she live ! Happy birthday Ma'am !
  9. If you're in trouble, if no-one else can help..........and if you can find them.........maybe you could hire.........
  10. I've woken myself up a few times, lol my dads a loud snorer as well, wondered if it was genetic ? I reckon it is genetic. My dad was the loudest snorer I've ever heard. Apparently I'm pretty loud too and my son has to be heard to be believed. That's my trip to Wales cancelled, then ! My first wife's dad beggared belief..... We'd go for a few pints on a Sunday afternoon and he'd go upstairs for a lie down, after dinner. We could hear him snoring downstairs -we had to turn the telly up over him !! I also dread the ma-in-law visiting - she snores like a jackhammer.....
  11. Did you work on the bottom or on the top..! The good book tells us that "it is better to give, than to receive"......
  12. Technically, I think that those who have mentioned Elton John's name are in contempt of court ! That's Elton John, the songwriter, born Reginald Dwight, in Pinner in 1947..........etc etc
  13. So, just to recap, it's alleged that a 'celebrity' who may or may not be Elton John has carried out an aggressive legal campaign to prevent his name being made public ? That's Elton John, the songwriter and musician, who has had over fifty Top 40 hits and recorded the biggest selling single in history ? Elton John who owned Watford FC and had a stand named after him, before being made the club's Honorary Life President ? Elton John who has been made a Knight of the British Empire and performed at the funeral of a Princess ? Surely this cannot be the same Elton John who has shamelessly
  14. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke, could it...........?
  15. I snored so bad last night that I woke myself up ! Should be OK tonight, though - I'm sleeping in the spare room.........
  16. Surely this episode, and the case involving Ryan Giggs, prove that privacy injunctions are unenforceable, these days ? 'Celebrity culture' is absolutely meaningless to me, but I've only ever seen injunctions as rich people trying to stop poorer people finding something out.......
  17. yes very true.. Till yous roll over and start all over AGAIN.!! It's actually not funny it's quite annoying It's not annoying......it's an endearing character trait ! And she also does her fair share.....!!
  18. Acupressure, my ar5e ! The good lady BB tells me that a swift elbow in the ribs is both effective and cheaper !
  19. I don't know about animals, but I have some experience of working with the deceased, so I can clear one thing up once and for all - humans are cremated, and their ashes containerised, separately - by law. Ashes are still classified as 'human remains', and their treatment and disposal is heavily regulated.
  20. I can't be certain, but I'd say it's a couple of used rolls of electrical cable...
  21. I was going to watch it, but I suddenly remembered that I don't care what muslims think........about anything........ever.
  22. They got 21 week jail sentences, suspended for two years, tagged and curfewed for 6 months, fined £300 costs and banned from keeping animals for life. Sadly, the dog ("Baby") had to be put down, as a result of its injuries......... Seems a bit lenient on Andrew and Daniel Frankish of Southampton Street, Redcar.......
