I know of a place in Northumberland that has unusual coloured hares like this, the gamekeeper describes them as lemon coloured, there's a white hare, and I've seen a white and yellow hare aswell as the dark gingers

Black Necks been breeding them since Circa 1600 to protect his Norfolk Bronzes whilst he's away in his role as head cattle drover after the beasts have been fattened up on the rich East Anglian pastures, indeed he lives off the land and has been known to procure a hare for the pot by dint of hurling the long dead cadaver of a mallard or part gnawed turnip as said hare lies motionless in its form, he's reputed to frequent Cockley Cley and holds legendary status around Smithfield market where his bottles of home made mothers ruin are in constant demand
