  1. i nearly always neck shot my deer mate, but any round will do plenty damage if it hits bone.... ATB. Snap.
  2. i'd deffo go for the .22lr for the bunnies and the general vermin, mag's crows etc... cheap shooting and you still learn the skills needed for c/f a days plinking with the hmr does get a little expensive... i'd go for .223 also as a foxing tool, and ask your FO, does he think in his opinion would you get granted for a .243 on first application, all he can do is say no.... All the best... Snap.
  3. love the second and fourth shots mate.... stunning dogs you have there... photography is rather addictive, once you get that one shot thats excellent you just want to achieve something better... its all a bit technical at the minute for me too, but trial and error is part of the fun... ATB. Snap.
  4. one of those days where you feel the need just to scream out loud how your feeling...............
  5. 5 shots will give you a clearer picture of what the reloads are actually doing..... most could achieve a good group with 3 but 5 will give you a better insight into what they are capale of... also When chronographing your reloads shoot a 10 shot string as the info will be more accurate as to what average velocity is.... and es, i always liked the 129sst in the 6.5 great deer round... Snap.
  6. No mate its a curlew..... i know some of the pics aren't great but i had to be quick on the focus to get what i got..... ATB. Snap.
  7. cheers, kay.... the daffs are a secret.......hehe still waiting on the postie to see if the bugger has my new lens bits.....
  8. well i needed to get a bit of a walk to myself and ease my mind so i took a little walkies to myself..... bar the pic of the kitty which i took at home...hehe
  9. nice going mate but i would suggest a five shot group, to you see how things perform... good going... Snap.
  10. check out the stunning video on this song.... a masterpiece... caution there is short strobing for a few seconds ... and a nice piano tune from sheryl crow..... enjoy... Snap.
  11. you certainly seem to have an abundance of deer there kay although that stag seems to be a popular fella in your neck of the woods....hehe i should have the macro here soon and can't wait.... the fella sorted out the problem with the postage dispute too.... i'll pm you some shots whenever i have a play with it..... hope your keeping well... Snap.
  12. i've seen lots of cases where shooters jump into a c/f rifle, and develop all sorts of problems, flinching, trigger control issues... closing the eyes on the pull of the trigger.... thes are hard to sort out once imbeded in the mind of pulling a trigger... Each person is different to how they react to a shot... but as stated get trigger time on some rifle to see what you CAN do then things will become clear.... good luck with the search and the shooting.... Snap.
  13. i would suggest you start with a smaller calibre, as learning to shoot with a larger calibre leads to flinching due to anticipation of recoil.. your not just gonna go out and start shooting at 500 yards , it'll take a while to learn the skill, So i'd suggest you purchse a smaller calibre like .223 if you want to jump into centre fires right away.... otherwise i'd say go for a .22 lr for a few months and learn the basics, safety. wind, ranging, marksmanship.... .223 will get you to 500 yards if your able to read the wind well you'll be accurate... i'd suggest you
  14. stunning looking dog, and lovely shots... like the 6th shot loads.. Snap.
  15. noromectin pour on still contains ivermectin, So if collie types be very careful as stated.... i'd think taktic would be the best way forward if anyone can spare a little but 1ltr normally dilutes into 45 to 50 gallons of water....!!!!! if you have a problem sourcing it give me a pm..... Snap.
  16. cormorant kay.... very popular sea bird.... nice shot, what lens did you get mate....? Snap.
  17. Collies with ivermectin sensitivity have been found to have a mutant gene for what is called the "P-glycoprotein." The P-glycoprotein has been studied largely because overexpression of this protein (i.e. having more of it than normal) results poor function of chemotherapy drugs in the treatment of cancer. The P-glycoprotein appears to be involved in keeping drugs out of certain body tissues. Having excess P-glycoprotein keeps chemotherapy drugs from reaching the tumor. When it comes to ivermectin sensitivity the problem is the opposite: mutant or non-functional P-glycoprotein leads to failure
  18. i ordered a deer drag harness of target sports in bolton...... they took the money and i got the harness about 6 months later....!!!!!! last order they have had off me..... Snap.

  23. hi snap wats the boresnake like for cleaning i was always told to dry clean ur rifle Boresnake's were designed by the military for a quick clean in the field, and not intended as a full cleaning routine... Ask you mate what does he do about the moisture in the barrel from the air..!!! pitting will occur if you don't coat the barrel in a light oil, over time.. A fella i know who has a fairly new rifle 22-250 was shocked to see his barrel with a bore scope recently.... there was a major carbon build up until half way up the barrel... not to mention the layers of copper
