Art are the coyotes & bobcats on the menu ?if so do they have a season & bag limit ? Have you got the pigs (hogs) ,we get a couple of TV programs that seem to sugest there a real problem . It appears people trap them allive , wierd given the amount of hunters out there.

Head & neck are fine if your an experienced shot , your on a solid rest, and are shooting at a resonable distance, but for the guy that only gets to do the occasional outing they would in my opinion be advised to stick with the heart/lung shot , there is far more room for error , any where in the front box will normally kill even if they run on ,clip a jaw or neck they can be running for days .The first priority should be the humane despatch of the animal ,anything else is secondary.

Daylight is as im sure you have all aware is noticeable earlier, with this in mind i set the alarm for 5.am ,ten to five i'm awake switching the clock of to stop it waking my wife,dont know why i bother really by the time ive banged & crashed loooking for kecks,pants socks etc ,she the dogs ,the people at the end of the lane,uncle tom cobley & all know i'm up...she still pretends to be asleep. I was suposed to be helping a pal with some woodwork to day but he managed to flood the gaff so woodwork was of plumbing was on ....not my fortte.Unloaded the tools , loaded the toys for the morn

surely there are health & saftey issues here.! i think they are right to get this inspected , what if the men who come to lift this were to hurt there backs ! is there an enviromental pollution issue here, there could be great crested newts living near by, what about the chance bats have moved in ,have the girls ,sorry men just moved it from a SSSI to a safer area, where by saving you being find for pollution.,.......You need to think this through ......having done so it is quiet likely you were right they are a bunch of tossers & i must give up drinking during the day .......... ....

Hi mat This bit is only small , around 200 acres but its a good mix , bit of arable,(70 acre red clover) bit of grass & woodland (60acre) so its quite good.At times there are a lot on there , same time you might not see any .They were hitting the wheat the other year with a vengence ,thats in clover now for 2 years (this is 2nd year) and i noticed the other day the 1st signs of growth so will be keeping an eye out .I left that buck because it is the only decent one i've seen,the fact it was so good was a bonus,all the others whilst big animals ,have head that are all spikes & fishtail

Thanks for that , dont know if it would work here,clearing woodland & planting crops i could see the odd problem ,thats if you could find a 1000 acre plot to start with ! Nice post thanks ....keep working .

Hi Art ,how does the club work , how many people involved, what sort of acreage does the club control, what type of land, ie farmland,forrestry,what spieces of deer,what sort of numbers, ...........................etc etc etc ..............you can by all means answer all these questions over 2 or 3 different posts ....allways nice to see how other people do the job & enjoy thier sport ... thanks i enjoy your posts .

Andrew ,i never gained any extra land just the right to cross it , but that gives me a big advantage when we have a north wind. dont have to walk down the boundry and across to keep the wind right,i can now get in the wood by a direct route.
