  1. Thats a shame but I'm sure the kit will enjoy a playmate. Can try again once the kits are mentally and physically old enough to give a bit back.
  2. Spot on man thanks, Ill send her the links
  3. Might be getting late for eight week old kits but I've a friend looking for two. Pet home, will be well looked after and perhaps a bit spoilt. Hob and jill preferably or two jills. Think they can travel anywhere in the Borders to collect. Ill see her again on Monday to let her know, they have been looking on gumtree and the likes, said I drop a post on here for them.
  4. I'd keep trying for now. Is the kit not fighting back?
  5. Introducing away from any established territories (Out of the cage, somewhere none of the ferrets know) can help because they are partly interested in exploring rather than having all attention focused on the new ferret. All you need to watch out for really is blood, wounds/sores, throats rather than scruffs or crapping out of fear. The rest is nothing to worry about. There may be some scruffing and squealing but nothing to worry about unless its relentless and you feel the newcomer may need a break in which case you would do regular short introductions. Doesn't usually take them long though a
  6. Im sure he ment accuracy. Might be 25mm out when you go to locate.
  7. Mine all recognise their own names so its handy if I want their attention.
  8. This stuff is meant to help hairballs pass though ferrets. A little extra will work as a laxative. Handy for nail clipping too. http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/Products/HB0981/beaphar-vitamin-malt-paste-for-ferrets?utm_source=google&utm_source=cpc&utm_campaign=ps_productTargets&CAWELAID=720017470000021235&gclid=CN2G6-Tzob4CFbMftAodgggAzA
  9. Could cage her alone to monitor her crap corner.
  10. Could have a blockage, could she have eaten something she cant digest? If it continues it may have to be a trip to the vets.
  11. Haha, looks like a dirty albino. Albinos do go a little orange, especially breeding season, maybe hes on testosterone overload.
  12. I wouldn't of thought that many people would keep them so I cant imagine you would get many offers, no.
  13. Rat tail. Fairly common and usually nothing to worry about. Can happen around the time a ferret changes its seasonal coat.
  14. We pull the 4fts out first, easy to just throw down.
  15. Your not wrong, from now until August is the best time to ask around and gain new land. Also if you drive a lot you will find well populated areas by watching road kill hot spots during the breeding months, acquired a nice new hill for next season after noticing.
  16. Mosquito net over the hutch will keep fly numbers down and let air through. Same stuff you get inside a tent.
  17. Rub a little wet treat they like into their chest, a little olive oil, some egg or something along those lines. Lay them on their back on your lap and cut while they lick away. Asthe guys have said don't cut in to the vein, you should be able to see it inside the nail. The front paws grow faster than the back.
  18. I did starve the young jill a night before a hunt, she wasn't making much effort prior but did that day. It was a one off to get her going. Not needed otherwise.
  19. They can literally shit themselves with fear, maybe that was an attempt with an empty bowel haha
  20. Pet weasels on YouTube, not sure about stoats but theres mink, otters and badgers too. Sure one guy has wolverines haha
  21. My jill had a change of character and didn't shed her winter coat last year after the jab so I have my suspicions about it. She came back into season three months later. There's pros and cons to all the methods dealing with a jills season.
  22. I was thinking about looking a plastic dog crates then making making a few mods.
  23. Vet said costs about £40 for the vial. That does four jills, but once opened it needs to be disposed of within 24 hours. So if it's one jill your having done it can be pricy. I arrange with my vet to have mine done on the same day as other ferret owners and that keeps the price down. Having said that I can get the implant for £30 now so don't bother with the jab anymore.
  24. Scruffing can work but the ferret can take a dislike to you for it.
  25. Prefer jills because they are lighter. But my hob is the best at it... Just too strong.
