  4. .I don't know why he bothered with them to be honest Money ?? The fella definately wasn't in dogs for the money.I think I gave him 30quid and 40quid for my first 2 blacks and he jabbed them up for me. Are you talking about Ken DS? He sold enough of those white Lakies back in the day, hit the American market with em after the arse dropped out of em over here. If i remember right him and Middleton done very well with them white lakies.
  5. his name on here is bird his dogs called Buck haha - Nope, it wasn't Ray but the bloke swore it was a wolf hybrid.
  6. At the Conway Valley show this year, a chap I met claimed his dog was a wolf cross....
  7. seen a couple and they weren't that good. Not as quick as the collie lurchers on the day, and not as brave... Good hunters though in woodland and fellsideI'd have to see the parents working first like ! This foxhound X bull grey is suiting my needs at the moment great hunter and plenty of guts ! Never be a lamping dog which doesn't bother me Go for a fell hound or trail hound for a lamping dog! Much leaner than a normal foxhound. When you list the things a hound brings to lurcher lines it amazes me that they are not a popular cross but I must admit I wouldn't want too many knobs getting into
  8. A mate of mine has a nice young bitch out of well worked parents and linage. If she goes, it should confirm that there are at least one line still doing it... The rest must be bred down from Cunningham-Rice dogs..!!
  9. Seen quite a few of those dogs out of Flint out, back in the day. I wouldn't have fed any of them.
  10. That has crossed my mind Ken but i do fancy a mixed breed, especially spaniel blood and see what i can get out of it.
  11. Love spaniels mate but want it to do more, ratting is a must.
  12. Down to one lurcher now and looking to bring in a decent bushing dog. Idealy i'm looking for the type to work single, work close and able to rat (at least!) On paper that type would be a spaniel to a hard bitten earth dog BUT any variation or additives that could do that would do the job. If its line bred, then proven parents are essential. Lot of beagle blood in bushers at the min but although i know their capabilities, i'd rather not have a pup heavily saturated but i'm certainly not ruling out hound blood. I'm a stickler for good blood and thats what i need in a pup. If
  13. What a great gift... I hope they make an unbreakable bond and a formidable team. Oh yer, great name too. Propper old school lurcher name.
  14. Enjoyed reading that, best of luck for the future.
  15. I'm also interested Foxpack, could you drop me a pm with the same answers please. Thanks.
  16. About 10 years back i missed out on a litter of GWHP to a coursing dog. Very handy dogs on all gear i believe.
  17. Never really had permo, spent most of my life hiding from plod on dark nights. Been stopped by plod at night and told 'I can lamp, just let em know i'm coming on'... I never did, never trusted em BUT i've always thought back, maybe they'd just rather know and leave me to get on with it. I know this much, its permo you got, good local permo. And you've been asked yo rung em. I'd be on the phone to them feckers 5 days a week to 'let em know'.. They'd probably think your some jobsworth freak and soon get tired of that and probably give you a wide berth...
  18. Very nice, i'll be after the same soon.
