This in turn means we pay more for petrol and food, since we sold off our oil fields and import 60% of our food. I remember many moons ago, my toddler kids, two dogs, a cat and a ferret used to play a form of tig together. How did they each know it was play? They all knew the rules too. Definitely some cross species telepathy/ understanding going on.

I knew a fella who used to poach pheasants and would then scatter the metal wing ID clips in front of the keeper's cottage to wind him up. Despicable what these poachers get up to. I would never be that vindictive.

Back in the sixties early seventies, before salmon farms, there was a really good market in salmon and sea trout. A roe deer was worth money as well. I don't think there's any serious profit poaching done these days.

I don't know why everybody is so surprised and horrified about this. If you get a precious commodity and poverty living side by side, the commodity is going to be exploited whatever the risk to the poachers. Has nobody on here ever poached for profit? Have you never seen gory sights involving death and blood? I could detail dozens of species which have been wiped out, or are in danger of extinction because of actions and decisions by mankind,usually "gentlemen" in suits making "strategic" business decisions. Hypocritical bollocks.

Decided to kick over the traces today. Not only did I have a long hot shower this morning, I had a laze in a hot bath this evening. I just don't give a f**k about the energy/ cost of living crisis. Hell yeah. f**k you, live life dangerously. But there's more. I drove to the petrol station with air con fully on, and filled up to the top! Yeahah! The adrenalin rush! There's even more. Wee Downs girl up the road has just been bought a kitten. I'm terrified it will come to a sticky end. Been reinforcing my dog run and garden fencing. I'm continually checking where the dogs are. Hunting dogs can be a nightmare.

I never bother them, just my preference. But I've got a little whippet here that loves to mix it with foxes. She thinks she's a bull cross. Some dogs attack anything they see in the lamp, others are more cautious.

No offence but a dog outweighs a fox probably 5 or 6 fold. It's never a fair contest in my opinion. A lurcher to me is a hunter of edible prey. A lot of guys are proud of their dogs because they can kill multiple foxes on the lamp. I have no problem with that. But for me ,it's not what they were bred for.

You could send a dog after the quarry you mention,getting it back would be another story. Disclaimer. No dogs were hurt during this conversation. Any reference to the travelling community was purely for satirical effect. The writer acknowledges the hurt that his comments may cause to the travelling community but points out that he has close connections to the travelling community from both Ireland and England which can be demonstrated through DNA analysis. Had a look at sites selling " fully trained" protection dogs this morning. Some are basically selling pups of 15 months as the finished product. Very dodgy. The protection dog industry has no oversight. Won't be long before there are tragic incidents stemming from these dogs
