Braverman is playing a clever game. She is criticising a situation which has been overseen and created by her own party. Why have the tories lost control over immigration? Answer, because they don't give a damn. Its a very lòw priority for them. They have promised immigration in the "tens of thousands " by three different tory leaders since 2010. However recently, they have dropped that promise and now talk about " reducing" immigration". So it's rich for a tory to be pointing out the failures of her own party as though out _of _control immigration is something only she has noticed. A -
Just had a look at the online dog flogging websites. They are all continuing to advertise XL bully pups and adults. You would think, given the overwhelming evidence linking this breed to mutilation and deaths, that these sites would, for ethical reasons, discontinue their ads for this breed. Zhang comes to fight, which is unusual in HW boxing these days. And he actually tries to punch hard...amazing. But he looks incredibly easy to hit. We were all fooled into thinking Joyce was some sort of ponderous, hard hitting George Foreman, but, with the greatest of respect to the guy, he is slow, easy to hit and has no plan B. He was too cautious in the second fight, he should have unloaded on Zhang tit for tat. He looked like a guy who "had a plan until he got punched in the mouth" and then had no idea what to do. It amazes me how a good whippet can kill rabbits and the occasional hare. Bigger ones can take roe and fox with help. Yet, knowing the difference between the real thing and a lure, they still chase the lure with everything they have. I once had a 3/4 greyhound 1/4collie ....my best dog. I can remember having my eyes opened to dirty play at Old Trafford in the mid to late fifties. We had a forward by the name of Pearson. Definitely, my sons were great fans. This has nothing to do with ability, but one of my lads was in hospital and I wrote to Robbo and asked him to sign a get well card. He returned the card within 3 days with a personal message from himself and signed by most of the squad. Top bloke.

Shearer's achievement in topping the premier league goal, scoring record is phenomal. Hats off to him for scoring that number of goals in a bum team. But I am sure he must think..." What if?" OK he is a god on Tyneside but the history books record trophies not the adoration of fans. I was astonished to see Kane move to Germany. He had a good chance of beating that record. Maybe it means more to fans than players.

You are not comparing like with like. Keane played with far more gifted players than Robson. Alan Shearer's trophy cabinet has cobwebs in it and is haunted by a ghost wailing "shudda signed for a bigger club,shudda signed for a bigger club".

Nah, I've lived a long time. I remember a lot of players. Keane was good but not great imo. Stiff, if you were a manager and had to choose between Souness and Keane . Who would you pick? Keane and Bryan Robson? Keane or Bobby Charlton? A different point, Rice is very overated when compared with midfielders of the past. For beginners, he doesn't score enough goals. Compare him the likes of Frank Lampard. His fee was delusional. I get that Lampard was less a defensive midfielder but Rice's goal ontribution makes his fee seem daft to me.

Hand on heart,how would Keane have dealt with Tommy Smith,Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, Big Jack or Bryan Robson. Sorry I don't buy this footballing legend stuff about Keane. Hard tackling,never give up,inspirational but not a true great. Both Viera and Keane were absolute pussies compared to hard men of the past. Creative players like Saka,Ronaldo Giggs have profited from better surfaces and stricter rules on physicality and the game is better off as a result. But the pantomime stuff leaves me disgusted. No, Keane played for my boyhood team. Of course I appreciated his overall contribution. He was part of a group of players who played on the edge and who were slightly deranged. Smeichel, Stam, Ince and others played to f****n win and took no prisoners. Keane came from a long line of super competitive midfielders from the 60s and 70s. But I don't remember any of them feigning injury. Keane was a great player but not a particularly gifted player. I like to keep things simple. Football you play by the rules, boxing play by the rules, street fight, no rules. My simple brain doesn't like exceptions or muddle. For example when Roy Keane deliberately targeted Alf Haaland's knee years back he was a complete shithouse. He did it in the most public way so football audiences could see him as the hard man. He didn't give two fucks how his team fared afterwards with only 10 men. If he really had beef with Haaland he could have knocked on his door and agreed to go somewhere quiet. Actually you are right about the handball. I've just read the new rules. Apologies. Knowing a man is on a yellow and deliberately trying to get him sent off may be part of the modern game as you say. But for me the game is being ruined by players feigning injury. It's not sporting behaviour as I know it.
