The scene, a cafe with a jukebox 1965. I was trying to make my coke last, as you got thrown out if you didn't buy anything. Somebody put The Stones 'Satisfaction' on. As soon as I heard that saxophone and the pent up frustration of Jaggers voice, I knew Cliff Richard,Elvis, the jive and the twist had had their day and the future belonged to that explosion of sounds that came out of the sixties. Especially The Stones. Still my favourite track.

I think eventually he will go to Madrid but it will be good seeing how he develops. The scary thing is he is only a kid, he can only get better if he stays fit and keeps his desire.

No team want to play like that any more. Swashbuckling centre forwards are considered old fashioned. We will see with Haaland. He might, as you say, get pissed off with doing all the work while Foden and company get all the glory. Time will tell.
-
Is he the best ever striker ? We won't know until we see his stats at the end of his career. But he has the potential and the desire to break all kind of records.

Yeah, there no psycho win or die trying types. Fergie always had a good sprinkling of slightly nutty characters in his teams.

Tragedy chanting was never part of our football culture. I tell what was, applauding the opposition when they scored a brilliant goal or occasionally giving a standing ovation to an opposition player who had dictated a match. I can also remember being passed over adults heads so I could see better at the front. Sounds a bit nostalgic, like the hovis kid, but it's true. There's a lot of sheer hatred at matches these days. I don't get it. These aren't just working class lads having a tear up with opposition fans after a match. They are all willing participants so I don't see anything wro

I agree we should stick with him. In the past we've always done that, it's only since Fergie retired that we have chopped and changed and the results haven't improved. People say Fergie only kept his job because Mark Robins scored and we won a cup. Otherwise he would have been out. I'm not sure Ten Hag's recruitment has been great so far though. Excluding the Madrid pair who have a lot of miles on the clock. Others say give them time_ some of them are just babies. But Garnacho is a kid and apart from Bruno, I think he's our best player. We won plenty with kids in the past. Antony is a big

A lot of women did. I remember him saying he had been offered more to appear in a porn film than he had ever been offered for a fight.

Agree with above. But don't you think Ten Hag has made a mistake thinking players who shine Eridivisie can also cut it in the premiership? It's not happening at the moment.

No recognition of the silky skills of Trevor Hurlock? One of England's finest. Fair, exemplary professional, a real role model. It was fitting he played for both Millwall and Glasgow Rangers Two teams with long, similar traditions in the way they played and with fans to match.

A blast from the past. For me Bugner was a very underrated fighter. Some say he lacked a little spite. But he showed plenty in this fight. Watch from 10.23

Going back to Bobby Moore. I described him as,imo, world class. And of course he was a world cup winner. Looking back now, nearly fifty years later, people will say that any half decent premier league club could beat that 66 England now because the game has improved so much. But he, again imo, transcended time and could shine now for any top Premier or la liga team .

I would say Rio Ferdinand in his pomp. Only classier. He was a forerunner of the true ball playing defender. He just stood out so much. He was like an adult playing with kids. A genuine smooth but tough operator. A class above..a bit like me really.lol

There is an unwritten rule in life. Big mouths and attention seekers are pushovers when the going gets rough. When I moved to Scotland a bloke called me an English Catholic c**t in a pub. There was let's say an altercation and he became very friendly after that. 20 odd years later he had a go at my son in the same pub for the same alleged offences. I paid him a neighbour visit and he apologised profusely and often sent a pint over to my son after that. Big mouths.....no balls.

Hold on, I was trying to help you out Stiff. I don't agree they were young lads. And they weren't singing anything. They were just two cowardly c**ts. As for them being sacked it depends what their jobs were. If their employer thought their business would suffer as a result of them being in their employment. Good f**k em. Actions have consequences.

The photo of Bobby Moore just reminded me of what an impeccable player he was. He could read the game before a situation had even developed and he always created time on the ball. I would have him as an all time world class player. West Ham fans would probably agree, but I suspect not the average fan. For me( and I saw him play a few times) he was world class . No question. The Scots hated him with a passion which is an indication of his superiority.

I'm confused. I'm not going to get sanctimonious about the comparison between Harvey Price and Bradley. As politicians say ,'you make a valid point'. But there is a difference. Harvey is alive, very large and potentially very powerful. He is also black. That combination, plus Katie Price being a ridiculous, grotesque figure herself, makes people laugh despite their better judgement. Sometimes people laugh when they are uncomfortable or scared. Bradley is dead, and his tragic illness and his cheerfulness touched everybody. He was never a potential threat to anybody. Those blokes d

Aretha Franklin for me. That gospel voice and those high notes are just effortless for her. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. To coin a phrase, nobody does it better.

As an example of the above.Years ago an elderly woman was mugged and attacked by a youth near me. The kids in the local school were asked to send her a Xmas card. She was inundated with cards, flowers chocolates etc. It gave her a lot of confidence and maybe restored her faith in humanity.

I've always believed in countering evil actions with good actions. The lowlife should never set the tone. People are only too willing to show their decent side when given the opportunity.

So VAR got it wrong...human error. I thought the purpose of VAR was to eliminate human error. VAR is a farce.

I walked in the door and I knew the mother _in_ law was here. The mice had committed hari kari and thrown themselves into the traps.

That old dry working mens club humour is only funny to our generation . I love old videos of The Comedians, Les Dawson, Benny Hill etc on YouTube. Harmless, often politically incorrect, non smart arse, fun. These whippersnappers don't know what they're missing.

Somebody has got it in for me. I left 2 tickets for Man Utd on my dash. Came back to a smashed window. The thief had left my tickets intact and donated two tickets for next weeks Man U game.
