  1. Hi, Has anyone got a spare dial sticker for an eight foot mk1? I've got a fifteen foot collar that works, but the leather collar has perished. Is it easy enough to replace the collar? If so.. how? I've got an old Mk 1 box that was given to me years ago. It has never worked...! Does anyone know where/to whom I could send it to see if it could be repaired? Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. And gues who,s got 3' . I have 3 very small 1/4 eu poley,,, 2 are hobs the other is a jill,, mind there no where near as small as those two things mag wich has photo off,,, but they are small I would still love one of those hobs off you mate if you're ever closer than three hours away...!
  3. Well folks... before Moxy and Leeview posted about their single boxes I ordered a KL Fibreglass one online. I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives.
  4. Hi there, I'm looking for a good single ferret box for a friend's five year old son. He's mad keen and has his own ferret and lurcher! I don't think Moxy does singles... so any suggestions as to where i can buy one? It needs to be light and well buit. There are a few on ebay, but I would prefer a personal reconmendation. Has anyone used the KL fibreglass ferret boxes? Regards, Mustelid.
  5. If it was I know where it is... Didn't think it would be possible to hunt it but sounds like it is. Don't give out too much info Giro, there will be no rabbits left there!!!
  6. Just got back... If Carlsberg did shit shows this would be it. The traffic getting in was horrendous, taking over an hour off the A38. There were very few stewards which resulted in it taking ages to park when on the field. To get into the show from the car park you had to negotiate two rickety styles. Fine for me, but not for old folk if those less fit. A sign written in felt pen directed the disabled and people with pushchairs another way. Once in the show there were no signposts or showground maps. The booths selling guides had sold out and the stewards fecked off. Finding a t
  7. I'm going, never been before so looking forward to it.
  8. Any more info about this show? Many folk going? Its a toss up between this and Bedwelty show for me...
  9. I mY have a copy for sale, I'll have a look and get back to you asap.
  10. In that case I have the litter brother to your pup as does a friend. I also have the litter sister to the sire.
  11. Just thought I would bump this topic to see if anyone has any further thoughts...
  12. Looks spot on. What's she like working cover?
  13. What size did that dog make?
  14. I've kept springers for the past twelve years or so and I'm always surpeised with their sheer drive to find scent. They seem a natural fit for the production of a hard hunting lurcher, yet I've never seen one or heard first hand reports of one... If anyone wanted to produce this kind of hybrid they would be welcome to use my dog or I could advise on other springer dogs to suit.
  15. As someone who keeps gundogs and lurchers I've really enjoyed this thread. However.... as I think someone else asked a few pages ago... is anyone thinking of breeding a litter?
  16. If anyone wanted to use a springer I've got a young dog in South Wales that might fit the bill. He's a small type, loads of drive, fantastic retriever, quick to learn and is FTCH x FTCH so hunts hard.
  17. Hi, I'm after a CAB dog box or something similar for an Isuzu Rodeo, the closer to South Wales the better! Thanks in advance.
  18. Cheers fellas. I got the number eventually, once I paid my £7.99 for a premier account!!! The fella took them back off the website as he had someone interested in the whole litter. The dam is a well bred springer bitch, the sire a first cross bull whippet. I'm looking for a ratting and bushing dog, but I was hoping the lurcher side of the mating might have a little more running dog. If anyone likes the sound of these pups I've kept the fellas number and could pass it on. They sound like they've been well reared.
  19. These are back on epupz, but I can't access the phone number without a 'premier account'...! So if anyone knows the fella or has an account with epupz I would be grateful for the number.
  20. Hi there, I'm looking for a springer or gas ram air rifle for the odd bit of vermin shooting. I'm on the Momouthshire/Herefordshire boder, anything local would be preferable. Thanks in advance.
  21. No idea mate! There was an ad on epupz and I'm currently looking for an out and out bushing/ratting dog, hence the interest. The ad has gone now though sadly...
  22. Hi, There was an advert on Epupz last week for some spaniel x lurcher pups. The advert has now gone! If anyone knows the fella with the litter please pm me. Thanks.
  23. A very interesting thread this.... A couple of people have mentioned Chipper's line of lurchers. I've a bitch out of Nell to a pointer x lurcher called Dougie and I'm very pleased with her. I've considered a litter out of her at some stage, but I'm worried about the prospects of finding GOOD homes fo the litter. I don't want to generalise but you only have to view a few threads on the THL to realise that finding good homes with SENSIBLE owners is difficult...
  24. There is whippet in her but she has never run doubled up. She's a cracking bitch when lamped solo... just doesn't perform well in company.
  25. Hi, I've got a lurcher bitch here who is proving to be a bit of an enigma.... When I lamp her solo, just me and the bitch, she always does me proud. Good strike, excellent retrieve, always silent and straight back to hand when the lamp is switched off. When I go out with friends and their dogs she is prone to the occasional yap and isn't as sharp when catching or coming back after a run. The difference in her can be on consecutive nights! On Sunday eve she had three from four and looked class, on Monday out with friends not anywhere near as good. I'm presuming it's a jealousy issu
