  1. ive been tempted but determined to let the rabbits breed to sustain the season for the hawk next year, they seem to be doing really well over here at the minute. hope mixi keeps low so the next season will be a gud un
  2. i dont know if anyone else has noticed this with theres, but as my birds got older the moult seems to have started a little later with each moult. but saying that the weather this year and last during the start of the moult time has been horrendous
  3. counting down the weeks until i know he will definitely be done but hoping it will come before i expect
  4. mines dropped two in one weekend! one mustve blown away but counted 10 and found one tail feather
  5. good goin mate wont be long and you will be out.ha mines dropped a secondary today. although winds have been really bad for the last two weeks so think some may have blown away, wait till he stretches his wings and see what he has lost. i hope im right and he has dropped some
  6. im sure you will get one next season if you look hard enough. ha i know my mates who flys a female is after one next season. the hard bits not catching them its finding them first
  7. sorry bud if your referring to me, might be local but not enough rabbits to barely sustain my season let alone someone else
  8. did u manage to end the season on hare with her? i know you said you wanted to
  9. its a strange one, this year not alot of peoples seemed to have started and those that have are either stopped completely or have only just started
  10. its doing my head in goin in everyday and still seeing him with all the feathers, at least if he was dropping them i wouldnt be doubting whats goin on. verm x has always given me alot of confidence whilst moulting the bird although i got a brouchure stating that it decreases moult time but compared to when i havent used it im not convinced it does, however i do notice that his feathers have a more oily and silky look and doesnt dry as quick or damage as easy through the season
  11. has anybodies wanted permission ads ever actually received any permission?
  12. how did you catch the sturgeon, if on a quiver tip no wonder it was a hard fight i bet your arms were aching off after. lol
  13. great catch there bud im after a catfish this year the only lake near my that has them they are few and far between, dont suppose you have caught one and have any tips?
  14. i recon its the colder weather mate its hung around alot longer than it did last year its been very irregular with it being mild one day then artic the next, in my area anyway.
  15. my male harris still hasnt dropped any primary or tail feathers since his first at the end of march he is really late this year he had dropped a few by now this time last year. and the years before that. he has been being fed on mainly pigeon and the odd magpie, with chicks 1 day a week all supplemented with verm x. i recon its been the cold weather hopefully this warmer weather will make him get a move on. so how about yours dropped many or like mine being slow with the weather?
  16. depends what for skinned, gutted, whole. i know a lad around my end that supplies the local butchers gets £1.75 for skinned rabbits
  17. only seen one this season a mates boxer dog put it up whilst we was walking apparently the local idiot killed seventeen by following snow tracks. thats probably killed the local areas hare population forever
  18. nice tank there bud used to have a 5ft one myself with discus in but when we moved house it wasnt small enough for the bedroom so we had to get rid. 16 year old goldfish died today aswell .about to flush it when my mam went mad and made me bury it. ha
  19. mine was lost 8 days last time , it was found down the bottom of the street eating dog food out of the blokes kennel, i was lucky the dogs left him alone, he has got three lakeland terriers none broken to ferrets but all soft as a brush.
  20. vet probably would tbh he is a right knob head. when the dogs went for their injections he just had something about him that screemed prick. i wouldnt be suprised if he wanted to put braces on the ferret as long as it cost me my last breath. he quoted me £110 for my hob vasectomised, what a joke. how he stops in business i ant a clue!
  21. i will try the cotton bud thing tommorow and see how it goes, the slightest twitch and i will take him to the vets better safe than sorry
  22. alot less than half chipped off probably 1 - 1.5 mm i will try the cold water thing tommorow. rang the vets and they charge a £35 consultation fee but when ive been reading about broken tooths on the internet hardly any of them required a vets attention and many just wasted their money as the vet told them its fine. see how he goes then i will take him if need be. with it changing colour i presume its been like it a while now so i would have noticed if it was causing him discomfort. only reason i noticed it was because the ferret was ragging a sock around with me when i noticed the tooth was b
  23. just been playing with the ferrets and noticed one of the hobs has broken his right canine tooth, its turned yellow and grey. i know old timers used to break ferrets teeth routinely, and they always seem to heal up, should i be worried? he hasnt stopped eating and doesn't seem to bother him at all even when ive been touching it. thanks
  24. nothing was killed but the first time i went clay pigeon shooting when i shot a shotgun the first time was the best day ive had, a kill at the end of a day doesnt make the day a good one. some of my best days are when ive come back empty handed, when ive just had a laugh and some good banter with my mates. although that's usually when we haven't had owt and got nothing else better to do sorry just replied as i saw it in new topics started didnt realise you were just on about terrier work. sorry
