-
good catty that bud bet it feels 100 times better to you than any shop bought ever will
-
cheeky c**t, although i have been looking for a new catty
-
im gonna give dub dub tubes a go because bandlife is shit with theraband gold 200-300 shots and nicks start appearing on the top band when using doubles. heard some good ratings on the dub dub so gonna give that and a few others a try.

no worries bud

get someone to mentor you from what ive heard falconry courses are wank, and experience days are just that an experience. not much education there. im sure there will be someone willing to take you out. put a post on here the bloke who im taking out next season did and he got me and someone else offering to take them out. i wouldnt pay them to take you out although offering to drive them to the hunting grounds would be a better proposition.
-
id say unless you have a mentor who could teach you with a goshawk steer clear until you have the falconry basics. go for a harris or redtail. harris probably better if a mentor isn't an option. but match the bird to the quarry, a harris is really only for rabbits wheras a gos for pheasant and partridge. i fly a male harris but the bigger female is capable of taking hares. no they dont need a licence they should but dont. i think if a hawk carnt be out 5 days a week its being wasted and i dont just mean a 5 minute fly. they take up alot of your time but only fly 5-6 months a year. they are exp

i had a feeling you did i was hoping they came with it as im not too good with things like that too messy and heavy handed lol im after a catty thats a bit better looking than the one ive got. not the natural look but with the colours found this one £32 but its aluminium and me still a newbie fork hits may still be a problem even though i havent had one since the first few days of me shooting the catty. it does look good though and the paint will probably give a better grip when its wet
-
cheers bud how much did they set you back if you dont mind me asking, did you do the paint job yourself or did they come with it?
-
first ive heard of his catapults being wank, but loads have said the customer service is shit. might steer clear of him then. does the bloke you got those 2 catapults from still make them? how many catapults have you got bud you seem to have loads?
-
all three look mint, last one is best imo. i need a new catty mine more than does the job but just too plain i really like rk catapults dont suppose anyone knows average cost?
-
no not imprinted bud he is fully parent reared but its just through the moult if the birds sees someone feeding them they will call for food whenever they see anyone, it happens all the time there was one on here a few weeks ago. go onto the moulting section on the falconry forum and quite a few are beginners with the same problem during the moult.
-
it does knacker your arm when you fancy shooting for a while. only problem ive found is when your maxing the bands out the band life decreases massively ive gone through 4 sets since i got the new catty with the last two only lasting 200-250 shots due to cutting them shorter in order to max them out.

im not one of those people bud (i know you said it generally not aimed at me) mines not in seclusion one side is fully open but i wouldnt say mine seeks affection but id rather him sit and watch the going ons in the garden like songbirds collecting sticks for nesting and the brothers and sister playing in the garden. he doest squark at anyone either as i put the food in at night so he never sees anyone feeding him, a mistake i made the first time i moulted him. ha drove me and the neighbours f***ing nuts
-
singles just feel too light for me
-
i kept mine tethered through the moult last year and had no problems with feather growth whatsoever. he is freelofted now but hardly moves from the same perch. personally i dont see a problem with it , hawks arnt wired up looking for things to prevent boredom there just bothered about there next feed. although he did seem to resent the handling when not being flown and showed a little aggression towards me when i was putting him from the aviary to the garden, whereas this year there has been none at all mines 13ft x 6ft with a swing perch in the middle, bow perch towards the back wall, a

Few Pics Of A New Hutch I Built
youcanthide...BANG replied to theworkingferret's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
great hutch there bud. whats even better is all that land at your doorstep. wish i had that -
SOLD*** SOLD***SOLD
-
probably unlikely buy it has happened, are the ferrets deffinetly castrated or vasectomised i trust you know the difference. i know it is probably a stupid question but it has happened endless times were vets have performed a vasectomy and not a castration and vica versa. check with the vet your not 100% positive. there loads of these cases on other forums
-
i imagine it will take longer than 2 weeks for hormone levels to drop after a castration but saying that im not an expert on things like that so your guess is as good as mine.

Do You Prefer Light Or Dark Ferret
youcanthide...BANG replied to tiger82's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
like the lighter coloured ferrets best to work, but darker ferrets look better imo. but at the end of the day they all work the same -
has the males been shagging her? even if shes spade they will still try it on. the dots could be teeth marks where the males are biting her to get her pinned down. the weight loss could be through stress of being harrased. it is that time of year when the lads will be after a bit, unless they are castrated
-
where abouts is the rash bud. i think canine distemper could be ruled out as you havent said anything about conjunctivitis, is the anus, eyes and lips crusty? although your other ferrets would have it but albinos are usually the first to show symptoms due to the colour
-
check for ticks mine came up with orange patches everytime a tick fell off. keep an eye on the other ferrets and check through them especially if there polecat coloured as the ticks dont show up aswell
