were talkin about ten month old pups here lad so read back a little bit a easy rabbit gona meen alot to im az for ye dog takin the knock in heat it must ov been sum chace . Because [bANNED TEXT] am sayin is I take my pups out everyday the field and they chace each other half amile up the field with more passion and do or die attitude than av seen while chasin a rabbit its one thing chasing other dogs(mine are the same) a whole different game coursing ''rabbits''.the next hares my dogs see will be in the winter.ps its not just you but the spelling and puntuation on this site is worse than my

Hear hear Charlie. According to the dictionary foxes are vermin, but i don't believe firearms departments use dictionary definiitions. If they DO mean that, I'd get them to put it in writing. Yeah I debated this in another thread, and it's certainty one I wouldn't like to test,. Not when Fox is ordinarily listed separately from "vermin" on certificates and when it's classified separately in the guidelines. It's always better safe than sorry given the penalties. Ah ok. Wasn't sure if they allowed hornet or if it was .222 / .223 min. Knew it was CF only. i am also in yorkshire alsone……..north yorkshire………..and shoot a .22 rimfire on fox …at reasonable ranges and also have previously used the 17hmr on fox …..both legally…….to say you need a cf is wrong ………says on my conditions ( vermin) ……fox are vermin

Nah. Don't have an FAC. Besides in my county for fox, you have to have CF, usually .223 min, even on 1st grant. For the numbers of rabbits I shoot, I'd probably use a .223 as an all round gun. If numbers became an issue, then yep I'd take a HMR as a 2nd gun over a .22 any day, unless I was shooting near housing at night. A few cracked cases and for some it becomes the devils spawn. Personally I don't see it. The superior range make the HMR a very nice little tool for small pest control. Every calibre has an achilles heal and .22 is far from perfect - low power, limited range and a tend

The gentleman in question should have phoned the RSPCA and reported the incident to them, wonder how long it would have taken the RSPCA to arrive at the scene for a genuine animal that was suffering If he had done that they would never have come out. We all no they never attend any animals that are in distress / suffering unless there is a camera involved so they can get publicity I know Anton i was being sarcastic
