  1. I got something like this in my shooting arm, but it doesn't sound quite as bad as yours. Dr has diagnosed a rotator cuff injury, damage to the muscles wrapped around the shoulder joint. Im going to ask him for the op after the end of the shooting season. On the subject of the fat moggies..lead injection..they're ruining your sport
  2. Where vermin are concerned, this is referred to, in knowledgable circles, as pesticide
  3. I've found that red is the one that works for me, with amber as a close second. Blue and green, I've found, tend to spook them more. I heard that blue is a no no cos theyre sensitive to that end of the visible spectrum, which would explain why they haven't liked green, because it contains some blue. I reckon everyones got a different story though
  4. Wouldn't surprise me if they alleged assault against Khan and he ended up in front of the beak for excessive force.
  5. Its not on using FMJ on foxes. Pelt hunters are the only one with a case for using them at all. Prvi Partisan aren't bad ammo. I shot .243 with them through my Tikka T3. Good groups under 1" at 100 Cheap an all
  6. Lightforce all the way. I got a 140 with a red filter. Does the job at a reasonable price, but its not got a dimmer
  7. have you done it yourself or know someone whos done it?
  8. I have a Lightforce 140, but sometimes I need to tone it down a bit. Is there a bit of kit on the market you can fit to the rig to dim it, to turn it up and down?? Ta! Skully
  9. Or he could just have a bloody wash!! Minger You could have serviced my L200 with the amount of oil on his boat race
  10. Hi Mate I originally bought one of these aboput a year ago, and fixed it to the rifle. After 3 months, one of the pins which lock into the QD stud came off, like the welding failed. I took it back and they exchanged it. Last week I took the new one off the rifle, and the feckin same pin snapped off in the same position. My advice is stick with Harris until they've ironed out the problem.
  11. I got 1. Anschutz .22LR Thumbhole wooden stock with a Pulsar N550( with doubler) and a aluminium mod, made by my gunsmith. 2. Anschutz .17HMR wooden stock (which the owner before me painted gloss black, so rabbits couldnt see it. I know, you couldn't make it up!) with a Sidewinder on top, and another aluminium mod, made by my gunsmith. Tack driver. Sniper systems bipod 6-9". Might get rid of this, or upgrade the stock. 3. Tikka T3 stainless in .243 synthetic stock, with an ASE Utra mod and a Burris variable illuminated on top. 4. Howa .204 black Hogue sporter with Wildcat mod and a Leup
  12. If this rifles just for foxing, and if so,have you considered .204 Ruger? I got one as my dedicated NV rifle, and I cant fault it for speed ( potentially 4100fps with 32gr V max), accuracy ( <0.5" at 100yds) and knock down power. I reload 39gr bullets and nothing gets up. Cheap to reload.
  13. Thats the bit that's putting me off, that and their penchant for chicks
  14. I have to say that I am dubious as to their effectiveness, but there again, I've never bought one to test it. A lot of them are designed to work with a hideously expensive call system, so they dont make a noise, but there are a few stand alones. (Jack in the box £139.99p) which have their own sound system, but I think thats seriously expensive for a squeaking bit of fur which moves around a bit. Generally fox shooting is done at dusk and at night, so if it doesn't work in low light conditions, they're bloody useless for foxing. I'd have to see one in action before I shelled out that amount
  15. Eating tree rats. I never had them, but I don't think I could actually do it. My dog retreived one once and was ill for three days Yeuch!
  16. I always favour the salmon paste sandwich under a flattened out pegged down purse net
  17. Stick all of this inside a piece of anchored drainpipe to keep it weatherproof. Let your bait hang out the end. Top idea. This really does work Skully
  18. Got to say that when we go lamping in the moonlight, the body count is always lower. They see you coming a mile off
  19. Look a bit cheap to me. This normally means low light collection performance at dusk, which would be important to me.
  20. Do the police know about this relaitive now? If they do, and they'd have thought anything about it they may have revoked his shotgun certificate. I wouldn't worry about it. I understand that the FAC app id different from the SGC app, as you have to have a good reason, but they would be harsh to refuse an FAC bearing in mind that he'd held an SGC for so long. That is , of course, as long as the imprisoned relative is not a hit person for the Cosa Nostra, specialising in centrefire rifle assassinations!!
  21. We shoot fallow and sell it head shot, head off, gutted, feet off and skinned for £1/lb
