Like to thank Pud and Neil (border ratters) for invite to one of there farms for a nights ratting. The farm in question was over the border into Scotland, this was a 200 mile round trip for me but travel is never a problem in search of Rattus. We landed at farm and first hit for dogs was a small room maybe 7 mtr by 10 mtr. Anyways doors opened , dogs let loose and lights on .Pud quickly blocked escape routes at doors . Rats were fleeing all over , dogs were reeking carnage on the rats trying to make good there escape, in minutes the room was filled

More Ratting With A Mink And Lurcher!

TIM Google "minkenry " there's loads of his stuff on there .I've watched most of them and have to say there something else . What this guy dose with his mink is amazing , his dog is very well trained too. This guy obviously puts a lot of time and effort into his animals and knows his stuff.Joy to watch "Minkenry "and keep posting , nice and refreshing and put some gloves on , I can live with the pink box lol. Aye bud had over 4000 in the five year I've had this farm.The farmer enjoys a bit ratting himself and is always on hand when needed.

Another Canny weekend on long tails. Farmer moved some big piles of logs ,chopped trees etc were a lot of rats had taken refuge in. Anyways accounted for eighty plus and a male stoat killed by one of my terriers. Was hard going for terriers as the farmers tractor had churned up the sod making deep mud ruts . Collie however managed ok killing around 50. Dogs have killed around a 1000 since end of harvest on this farm alone.No great pics as I only had phone .atb Keith j.

Depends on how deep the sets are etc.Sometimes you start smoker up and rats will start bolting off the vibrations, other times you can't shift them .Having said that pumping to much smoke in and a lot will sucome to fumes and die. I'll smoke for little while then stop , lot of the time rats will bolt if you stay quite enough. Good luck atb keith j.

Aye bud, get bit pipe welded on exhaust to attach hose to .Remove belt and any moving parts incase dogs get close to smoker, don't want them hurt . No need for extra oil in mix , ru it normal jobs a good un.atb

Canny weekend on the long tails dogs killing 113.This was over 3 hunts on two different farms..Friday night 20 killed on lamp, same farm next day 74 killed.Farmer moved bales for me and dogs nailed 36 , the ones that got away I left for hour or so and went back and smoked and dug the rest . Second farm this morning dug and smoked 19 which dogs made short work of. Dogs have been busy since harvest ratting 2 too 3 times a week .Had some great sport .Took couple pictures on phone of dogs and few rats .Atb Keith j.

Invited "Pud"from the Border ratters for a day on the long tails on one of my farms in the Borders.Pud brought his two Plummer bitches which would acompamy my two Plummers and collie "Merle". Today we used smoker and spades,We killed 55 rats a lot of which where dug out the rest bolted by smoker. These dogs are all seasoned ratters so today was a joy both men and dogs new what had to be done..Some great sport all dogs making some great kills .Took couple pics on phone,atb Keith j.

Good for you you Rob,Glad I had a part in the making of "wilf"and he is doing the job for you..Ive met you in person a couple of times and spoke many other times .You put me on the right track on a stud dog for my bitch which is the mother of" Grace, Wilf and Red"all of which are worked regular and doing everything asked of them..Good luck with the biking ,touring not a better feeling apart from killing rats that is lol..Ive tourerd Europe 3 times on bike with tent ,Switzerland,Italy,Piranese,Austria etc .Good luck and all the best have a good one bud atb keith j

Glad to here "wilf"is doing the business for you Rob. These dogs have some go in them ."Grace"has come on leaps also.My team have been worked a lot since the harvest ,out in all weather's working all put in front of them.Just killed another 26 rats today ,been digging quite a lot out with them lately,keeps the dogs fit and keen. She dose well bud.Kills and catches rats as good as my terriers. Had couple good night's on mòors for rabbits , she nailed 24 and palls collie another 12,36 not bad for collies and this is not a one off.alb Keith j.

Aye Tim, find that with a lot of folk see a few about and it's lifting lol.Get it off alot of people..It certainly keeps the dogs fit and keen..Thats why I try and dig a lot out with my dogs bit of work out for them atb keith j.
