  1. Lapau is very good stuff, all of it (Brass, Bullets and loaded ammo). BUT I've found a JEM, try some GECO 40gr Target, I shoot a very nice tricked up SAKO Finnfire Varmint Rimfire, and of all the stuff I've tried (Including TENEX) the GECO cheapo target stuff beats them all. My rifle is used for vermin, GECO is a solid 40gr bullet, quite 'shiny' and hard, but unlike the cheap and cheerful Remington, stuff kills Rabbits well and it doesn't just pass through and richochet into infinity. Give it a try (circa £30 for 500). AF Will have a look out for some of these. Cheers.
  2. Purchased a100 of these as I had read some good reports on them. Put them through my 455 and they are more quiet and accurate than the winchesters I've been using. At yards they group under an inch, some through the same hole. Just need to find someone in my area now that stocks them.
  3. Just be careful and someone may correct me if I'm wrong but check that the cross hairs are etched into the glass. I had one once on a HW80 and the recoil broke the cross hairs!! When I took it apart there was a retaining nut that held the cross hairs in place and this had slipped and the cross hair was split. It was not etched on the glass but it was a separate part made from a very fragile material.
  4. To conclude, my offer was not taken up so i rest my case and will keep my thoughts to myself!!!!
  5. I can assure you that I have no conditions on my license now. When I first was granted my section 1 I did have conditions on my 22rm, but after the relevant experience it's now open. I would very much doubt that any police authority would grant an open ticket for a first time application/issue. The part you mention about deer gives it away. I will personally make you an offer to come down to my permission/s with your rifles for a days shooting. If you are what you say you are I will put a personal apology on this site direct to you.
  6. I think fella you need to take another chance on a lucky dip and see what license you come up with!!!
  7. I would of thought with a section 1 granted for your 17 and 22 your FAO would be satisfied that you could answer the ricochet question yourself? Also you mention pest control, what did they grant the use of these rifles for? Again you must of had adequate experience to be able to be in possession of these?
  8. Got one as well in FAC. Absolutely great in the field, had a S410 before and this is in a different class. I changed the silencer on mine to a weihrauch ans it's even quiter. It's much more manageable as well than the S410.
  9. ATB with that mate, my grandsons only 3 and he's already asking questions why I shoot rabbits and pigeons. Get it in to them at a young age.
  10. I thought the same about one of my permissions, wasn't seeing any rabbits then went out last week at night time and it was like a summers day. Eyes everywhere. I went to another permission on Tuesday night and never see a rabbit for 2 hours but I know they are there, just need to wait till the weather warms up and they've had their first litter.
  11. Cheers for all the comments lads.
  12. Went out last sunday to do some holes ive seen whilst the snow was on the ground. Never knew they were there till the foot prints and droppings appeared. Loaded the 3 ferts in and never seen them so excited when i boxed them up!!, they definatley knew where they were going. Arrived at one of my permissions and walked the short distance to the holes. The first set was 20 holes and netted up and double checked to make sure i hadnt missed any. Put my polecat ferret down first on her own just to see what the response would be and began to follow her about with the finder. She was moving we
  13. Went out the other night but didnt quite realise how windy it was but having arrived at my permission i decided to give it a go anyway. I found a hedge row with a bit of shelter and sat and waited for a few minutes. Put the light on and had a scan round and nothing! waited a bit longer and again light on and nothing. Decided to move a bit further up and sat and waited again.Put the light on and bingo a couple of pairs of eyes at the side of the hedge. Put the lamp onto a dim red setting and lined the cross hairs up on the first pair of eyes, pulled the trigger and down it went. had another
  14. If you ring AA direct they will send you a service kit out in the post. I rang a year or so ago for one and they sent it FOC!!! Came with the spring/guide/washers/lube.
  15. If your shooting from a picnic table with the angle going downwards towards your target your POI will be different to that when your shooting from a bipod at a straight angle. I.e your target is more or less on the same parallel as your barrell when shooting from a bi pod.
  16. Allways the holes you don't see that they bolt from.
  17. I have 3 Jill's one is a p/cat and the other two are albies. One of the albies will not work on her own but put with the other two she's wild!!! So I would say that if you can work them with some other workers they may be ok. It's worth a try?
  18. For the sake of £13 fit the trigger kit. It only takes 15 mins and your groupings will improve.
  19. Agree, wouldn't swap mine either. Fitted a trigger kit to mine and now shoots a dream. Very quiet with the varmint barrel and sak mod also.
  20. I had an and put a TR Robb kit in. Didn't need a spring compressor. Oh and watch out for a small pin that can fall out of the trigger assembly. You will wander where it's came from and also the tiny spring from the safety catch. If you get a Robb kit you get a DVD step by step guide.
  21. I'm looking for some advice/guidance on a basic video set up for mounting on my air gun and also rimfire. Wasn't looking to spend a massive amount and also what editing software. Seen some cameras on flee bay and was wandering if they are a good starter.
  22. Am getting 40/50 on a 232 charge. I had an s410 extra before and it's just as accurate with the added bonus of being a lot lighter and shorter barrell. With the 410 you only got 30 shots max at full power.

    Mixed Bag

Good shooting mate. And yes rabbits are a bit thin on the ground near me as well. Although yesterday whilst on a walk about I did find a few warrens that were hidden untill the snow fell and their prints and urine showed them up!!
