  1. Welcome here mate, You mention watching hunter vermin vids on youtube. They are all cracking to watch as are Zini's films. But just remember hunters vermin does use all FAC rifles!! Any way we all did start somewhere at the bottom and all the best on the massive learning curve. One final thing to remember is that the rabbits and pigeons that you will be after have amazing instincts and will do everything possible to avoid being shot!! Rabbits will here the slightest noise 100 yards away and be gone before you know it. Pigeons see a bit of your flesh and the same gone before you
  2. It's 22. Going out today so hopefully some woodies for the ferrets!!
  3. Mine does the same if I have my phone in my pocket.
  4. Running at 32 with bisley mags. And yes got a 40/50ft back garden. Also got a lot of woodies around but can't shoot anything!!!
  5. Picked up my new R10 FAC and with all the snow I can't get out. Plinked a few cans in the garden and that's it. Hoping the weather eases for Sunday.
  6. Pigeons at the minute have far too much feed to choose from. Where as before in the cold weather the food was concentrated to the rape there is now an abundance of food still on offer all over the place. I think next year we will be over run with the buggers!!
  7. I had a cross man phantom a couple of years ago and it could group better than that webley at that range using falcon accuracy plus.
  8. We need it over here as well. Still things growing and holes covered up.
  9. Just a little update, got home from work tonight picked her up and just a playfull nip or two. Put a but of milk on my hands and fed her some dry food by hand and all ok!!! Thanks everyone for your thoughts/advice.
  10. Il do whatever it takes hopefully a few more bites and some patience she will be fine. I think the bloke that had her before didn't look after her that we'll as she is also very timmed.
  11. Have just introduced another polecat Jill to my existing two Jill's and it bites every time. It's fine with the other ferrets just seems to be me!! Will it settle down? Is it because it's in new surroundings?
  12. Be patient mate, not many rabbits around in some areas. Don't expect big bags and be prepared to work to get whatever you catch. It's not as easy as some make it out to be.
  13. Rough neck spades ate great when you need to get in a tight space. Take mine all the time. Good price you paid as well, paid nearly £20 for mine!!
  14. Just a question to ask. When I first got my ferrets (2 Jill's ) I would chuck a carcass in and they would both tuck in. Then I started to give them lambs hearts and used to chop it up for them. Now whatever I put in pigeon/ rabbit/ liver they won't eat it unless its chopped up!! They will sit there and wait for me to chop it up into pieces. Am I being too soft on them?
  15. Sent mine away for a "one to one" and also wrote a letter to ask for mine to be open. Explained why I was asking and it came back open. (same condition as FAC air rifle).
  16. Been out twice this week and only bagged 5. I know the rabbits are about as ive seen them when out lamping. Just can't seem to find where they all are. A friend of mine had said that when the warrens get flooded the rabbits take cover above ground? Any way il keep carrying on, and one bit of good news I picked up a new permission on the way home today so will give that a try at the weekend.
  17. Got an immaculate TXHC in .177 if your interested? Currently on gun watch.
  18. Looking to sell my AA410 extra mate but I'm in Cambridgeshire. Only selling as stepping up to a daystate air wolf.
  19. Place on eBay called uk trading based in derby. Bought one myself all BS standards and fit for FAO inspection. Bought a 5 gun safe for my 3 rifles with scopes plenty of room £130
  20. Definatley put any speeding convictions! When I had my interview with the FAO he had them all wrote down and had cross checked them with what I had put in my application.
  21. Why would you want your employer to keep a record? If ever you loose/ misplace or damage your cert your licensing office will re- issue after completing the forms again. After all, your RFD will not accept a photo copy when you go to buy ammo. Just keep your Certs in your gun safe.
  22. Agree with Toby63. With this being your first rimfire application your ticket will be closed I.e. only for use on land deemed fit by the chief police officer. In which case your FAO would have either visited the land or knows the land is ok. Personally I cant see any FAO clearing land that has open access for dog walkers and also cattle for a fist time application.
  23. Another way is to set your rifle up and aim at a set target lining up with your scope. Make sure you do not mive your rifle from this position. Then remove the bolt and look down through the barrel. If this lines up somewhere near where your scope is then you should only need minor adjustments on your windage and elevation.
