  1. There was 2 this morning and now there's 3, fingers crossed the fourth one hatches too. I might have a hen goldie coming on monday too
  2. I checked an hour after my last post and there was a chick there so fingers crossed they all hatch ok.
  3. I know mate, I keep checking them but no sign yet. They seemed ok when I candled them.
  4. I hold the lead in my hand with my arm out the side of me and find it easy(ish) to control the dog so he can't turn into the wheels and you can also feel when he's lagging behind or wanting to pull. Its just a shame there isn't a set time when there's no bloody cats about, if I spot them first he will leave them but you always get the kamikaze ones who jump out from behind a gatepost or something.
  5. I just tried to PM you mate but your in box is full.
  6. Where abouts are you? I know of a couple of pairs of bull finches in a shop by me.
  7. I don't keep them anymore mate, I had snakes until my little girl became scared of them but now i'm sticking with the dogs, ferrets, fish and canaries. I also have to sort out my littleuns guinea pigs and cat so couldn't be arsed keeping exotics tbh. Keeping my terrier away from the cat is a full time job
  8. I'm surprised it can jump, looks a bit on the portly side
  9. Cracking pics there as usual Moll, hopefully i'll have some chicks by the weekend
  10. Here's one especially for you arachnophobes I've had a couple of goliaths in the past.
  11. The only snake i've been bitten by was a royal python and he didn't half get me the little shit I was strike feeding him and looked away for a split second and bang, i've had boas and all sorts but managed to never get biten by them.
  12. did it hurt real bad ? and what was the outcome, are they poisonious ? i know if it was me it would be wearing a boot against a wall It didn't really hurt at all but I just froze while it was biting the back of my hand repeatedly with its 3/4 inch fangs, eventually after what seemed 5 minutes but was probably ten seconds I shouted my mum who knocked it off my hand and walked off calmly saying ' I thought the bloody house was on fire!' while I just sat on my bed while my heart beat returned to normal . The bite off a tarantula is only like a bee sting so only dangerous if your allergic
  13. I've had quite a few tarantulas over the years and they don't bother me at all apart from when I got bit by my first one (chile rose)as a kid and when I was trying to box up an adult female cobalt blue to post it to a lad, I was nudging her towards the box with a pair of forceps when she decided to run up them and I couldn't get them off my fingers
  14. I wouldn't mind a copy either if someones got a spare
  15. Does he react badly when he gets stung by nettles? My old dog wasn't too keen on the stingers but was fine in brambles etc.
  16. How much for breaking through posted?
  17. 1 lurcher 1 terrier, i keep thinking about rehoming the terrier and getting another lurcher because of the shit times when there's no terrier work about but you could bet your bollocks if I did i'd find foxes to ground everywhere and get asked to shift a ton of rats. Plus I like the mad little fecker
  18. are they def pair mate,is it poss they two hens ? think they mite be 2 hens meself, the black n yellow one feeds the other one,guy said they wer a pair Get yourself another nest pan and a cock bird and find out mate
  19. http://www.british-birds-in-aviculture.info/
  20. Just heard my hen sing so no wonder they weren't knocking boots , I think my father in laws fife's are both hens so might see if he wants to do a swap.
  21. Did you just put the goldie in with the canary and they did the rest then mate, how long were they in together for before the hen started nesting and accepted the cock?
  22. Might be able to find you one soon if your coming down visiting family or owt?
  23. Good luck with your chicks Moll I've got a black red factor hen sat on 4 eggs and i'm going to try some mules I think too.
  24. Have you had any singing off the cock bird or seen him treading the hen mate? They look like a mix of eggs off two different birds in the pan. Hopefully i'm wrong and you'll have a nice brood of chicks.
  25. Anyone fancy doing a quick run down on how they produce their mules? Do you have to run the hen canary with a canary first? Will a goldie cock just pair up and mate with a canary hen if put in together and left to their own devices? Cheers in advance, Gnipper
