  1. It's not only the wattage its the way its delivered. It's some thing to do with the drivers, it's a micro chip business. Now I'm getting out of my depth I'm sure you electronic geeks at the manufacturers will know. The leading led's for sheer power is XHP 70, that can put out over 3600 lms and the led with the throw (beam) is XHP 35 and that can give you 2500 lms. There are many other led's on the market, but these seem to have edge on performance and are in some of the newest torches. There are torches out there that put out over 16000 lms . I'm not sure how you would approach the manufac
  2. Feck Deben, it's "Lloydy Lamps" all the way Joking aside, I like Deben and their customer service, but they have never asked me what I want and they certainly ain't come on here asking the end user what they want.
  3. There you go Tomo, some light reading for ya. http://www.cree.com/led-components/products/xlamp-leds
  4. 90 minutes is some lamping though wouldn't you agree? 90 mins is an ok nights lamping, but I can be lamping for a lot longer than that if there's no game about. What ever the outcome I'm excited about the new lamp. As long as it's got a flipable filter, dimmer and a 800m + beam
  5. XHP 70 led's use approx 32 watts of power. This is the most powerful single led on the market. Not to say Lloyd will use this but it give you an idea.
  6. It's all about led's. I am "fairly" up on the technology of batteries and led's and a powerful led does 4 18650's in about 90 mins. That'll mean a lot of batteries for some people and a separate charger. Unless Lloyd can get the charging done in the lamp, but that wouldn't give you any spares.
  7. But why would you want a 22 amp/hour battery with an led lamp? You wouldn't. I never said you would? Why would you want a cable and external battery pack with an LED lamp in 2017? If you use a high powered led you need big batteries and they are heavy.
  8. The battery won't be big. The only way to get a longer beam is to increase the power, it's not rocket science and for that you need a bigger battery bank. Gaz's idea is good, with the replaceable batteries, but even that is a ball ache.
  9. But why would you want a 22 amp/hour battery with an led lamp?
  10. well yeh we could,,,,,BUT,,i think the hole purpose of your endeavour is to produce an all in one lamp,,,,,,if you start adding battery packs ,,,you might as well go back to veriouse lightforce lamps,,, Not at all. You will have a much more efficient lamp with a better stronger beam and all the need features. I'm excited for the new lamp and well done Lloyd for getting it together.
  11. To get the beam/power and longevity. You will need bigger batteries if you are gonna get a more powerful led. You would probably get away with a small battery pack, may be around 4 amp/hour or less. I know it's not what most need to hear, as it is an extra cost. But it will make the lamp a lot lighter and less prone to break when you drop it. Also if your lamp is attached to you via a cord you're less likely to leave it somewhere
  12. I'm not sure what the 150 is Tomo. But if you're looking for range/power, the led will be zapping the juice.
  13. Yes you should. Responsibility is why. If your dog gets something, you owe it to others to not spread diseases. You can't be vaccinated against Malaria. Most people vaccinate their pups, usually one time only.
  14. If made correctly, with led's you shouldn't need a massive reflector. I still think that if yo want the lamp to last a long time, the power pack should be separate, otherwise the lamp will be heavy. Here are a couple of torches that hold three or four 18650 batteries, same size as in a vape, etc. These torches only last an hour or so on full beam.
  15. Problem is with rechargeable handheld's is the weight. I say keep the power pack separate and have a light weight lamp in your hand.
  16. Longer beam the better and if it had a dimmer you could lesson it.
  17. Thing is they are already out there. I think what Lloyd is getting at is a new lamp. The colour you speak is "natural white."
  18. 26650 batteries are the way to go with hand held stuff, I think. They are the equivalent of two 18650's
  19. Dimmer for me and a flipable filter, like on the Clulights. A XHP70 led or a few XHP35's. Just ordered a Trunite TN42 with a XHP35 led, 1300m beam from a hand held torch.
  20. Real or no real, its a good tattoo that's in very bad taste. Better than a lot shown on here
  21. Not for a couple of generations. They'll see what happens in the States first. The US is far from unanimous on the matter but now California, and Nevada, have gone fully legal it won't be too long before it goes federal. As with most things the conservative states will hold out the longest but Cali usually sets the precedence for the nation. Many dispensaries over Europe. I was surprised to see them in Spain when I visited recently.
  22. I think so Lg,i saw one of these on a BBQ skewer so if they eat them they will eat owt,no discrimination due to colour. Those feckers bite don't they? Dems trainers look fresh!
  23. Yes mate it looked like if it went under the lower wire and somehow got stuck Unusual for a dog to get it's head caught "under" a fence. Must be something more to it.
  24. fly in morning ant weather looks ace should be fun Good luck GL, where did you have your lesson?
