    is it dog or a bitch? how old is it?

    is it a quick set net mate? if so get your self off to an open field with no stock in it ( keep away from the local playing field) less iteruption. practice setting it up untill you can do ot with your eyes closed. maybe not in one night but it's not that hard . your halfway there the next step is a bit of planning. find some rabbits. find were they feed if you set the net inbetween then drive the rabbits towards the net. and hopfully when you get to the net the top line is moving up and down. it's a bit of a condensed crash course but i hope it helps. goodluck and happy hunting . atb RAW

    i'd say take her with another dog that is 100% when that dog has marked put it on a lead .know let your pup have a looked. watch your pup closely some dogs are very subtle and all mark different. after a few atempts your know when theres something home. she lookes a real nice bitch mate . goodluck. atb RAW

    alimac i know it's not traditional to put colllars on hounds but if it saves hours loooking for a lost hound thats curles up in someones car or £50 at the pound. a collar it has to be. the reason i asked the quetion is to find out if someone has come up with an in genius alterative. i only have a small pack and would be gutted if i lost one.

    take two out mate . the old one and a younger one. if the older one is struggling and the younger does the job quick time. it's the beging of the old ferrets retirement. you don't want to be stuck on berrie when you could be at the next netting up. keep the old boy or girl for little jobs. my old girl is getting on know and she still bolts rabbits but she's been a great team member and deserves a rest. atb raw

    hell yeah!!!!!!!! . saw a russell once go into shock from nettle stings. we thought he had been biten by an adder. all the other dogs were ok and had been working the same cover. i bet your whippet was icthing a bit in the night. great looking dogs mate. atb raw

    feel really sorry for you mate. i lost two pups a few years ago and nearly lost my old girl. the vets had her in for days in the end they said she wasn't responding to the treament. i had to take a week off work and nurse her myself. not an easy job i tell you .she would only eat fish shop sausages. cost me a fortune but worth every penny.

    mixed bag. i'm not jelous at all if you took some time to read all the posts you would have know that. and for the record its not rocket science to work out how many a dog caught. if it happen well done lads

    i'll explain why i find it hard to believe. i'm not saying it never happened but with age comes a built in radar to question great feets of achivement you haven't witnessed and is told to you only third handed. i have never seen that many rabbits on a night out and i do travel to find them.

    there are only 8 hours of darkness no matter how many dogs you run!!!! sorry mate

    the dog that bagged 101 rabbits caught 1 rabbit every 4 mins. for 8 hours straight now that would be some dog.

    hear goes tomo mate. i worked out that at this time of year theres roughly 8 hours of darkness thats 480mins. you stated on the second night they caught 231 rabbits (rounded up to 240) 480 /240=2 thats one rabbit every two minutes. didn't mean to affend you mate but surley you'll understand that some people would find it hard to belive

    what a bag!!!!!!! just done a bit of maths and thats roughly 1 rabbit every two minutes. i'll have to see that to belive it i'm afraid. it's just thats more rabbits than i see in a season.
