never been when ground is frosty been plenty of times when snow is down on the ground and a white sky with good effect . as long as you know your land and were they travel you dont need a lamp and you can pick off them lamp shy ones. -

good thing about having a good depth to it in the summer months there will be enough oxegen in the water . and winter they can go down alot . not like alot of these commercial fisheries that are between 4-5 foot deep and in summer all fish on top gasping for air .personaly i wouldnt bother with lillies because they spread to quick and hard to get rid once established .
