  1. I have had them in the house and in the run,my older bitch was out until 12 months then came in .I have pups in for a few month to learn them some manners ,then start them in the run all day and bring in during the night then start to leave them out ,no hassle once they realise you ain't letting them out

  6. Had a lurcher a fw year back that had a liver shunt, with the same symptoms, but I'd probably guess low blood sugar or heat exhaustion, but as said get ut to the vets, safest bet.
  7. He won't be lonely ,he has you! That's the way you should look at it a dog who has your undivided attention will do it's best for YOU. If you start doing so much work that the dog needs time off through injury etc consider it then, but that won't be for a few years,it's easy when new to dogs to think more is better ,but it's not.Your dog will be a better dog for the more sport you give him and when the time comes that you feel you need another you and your whippet will have learned so much more without distractions of another pup, ATB Roy
  8. Dai as I said to you before,I normally wouldn't agree breeding off a young dog ,but there are circumstances where it is necessary.when a line that has proved it's self and there are no older dogs to bred off Or a dog has showed very good signs, and isn't going to make old bones. I think it probably applies to you on both counts.if my bitch had of been a couple of year younger I'd have let you use her ,as I think you'd have like her in her day. But as I bred off her so late (8 and 1/2)and was her first litter I think it's asking a lot off her for the litter she's just had,and I think anothe
  9. They never really fly the nest mate ,I still have Sunday dinner at me mom's lol
  10. They'll be strong dogs then mate, good luck
  11. A half decent bull cross should be capable of a Fox come 18 months of age ,and if anything need holding back from doing numbers. Doing ones and twos,if bred right, then resting up,kept winning, should be within It's capabilities. We're talking 18 months not 10 - 11 months thought and this is where the damage can be done, also working whole not fit or sore will sicken quicker than most things. I certainly wouldn't be giving up at 18 months though. As has been said some are still immature at that age and could be raring to go in 12 months from that age. Keep trying and give them some more
