  1. Think one or two members on here saw the dog go.
  2. we're out tomorrow - ill tell him to look on here OK
  3. well if if you breed a or 90lb or even 100lb coursing greyhound to a 50 or 60 lb bull and keep keeping the biggest you could end up with all the height and length of a greyhound and build and muscle of a bull something I would want but there's the reason behind it,my britches sister was 29 inch and racy out of a 1/2 cross and a 1/4 bred bitch so there's lots of permutations when breeding different types of dogs when you put it like that i suppose it could happen, it'd be nice to think that somewhere out there are lines of bull x that are athletic, not too big , say 75lbs and still able t
  4. interesting post Bosun - so do you reckon these were the types used to get the giant lines bullx we see today?? or would you say there's something else in the mix. ? you used the word athletic and thats not a word i would apply to some of the bull lurchers i see.
  5. Old Dog is the man to ask about that he keeps both and has had a few crosses over the years too
  6. its the size of some of the modern bullx that has me scratching my head. What would a typical match bull be? 45lb? you breed that to a 75lb greyhound and you'd end up with handy sized types. But these 29 inch 120b monsters. i wonder how they've got to that size and also is the size used to maybe cover up inadequacies in them, basically creating something that can bully the game. I would much rather see a 26 inch 70lb dog do its job well that one of these carhorses. Be interesting to hear the older members memories of the first pit crosses they saw in the 70s and 80s. size, build, abilities...
  7. CD said in his book that he sold Smithy but kept his brother, but doesn't go into detail about what sort of dog the brother made.

  14. Waz my Montana were great in every way except the grip was shite on wet, slopy ground. I complained to the supplier and they admitted they'd had similar complaints.! In the end I made the gaps between the tread bigger with disc cutter, has helped. I got haix k2 and no problem grip wise. But other than that prefer Montana
  15. you can teach it to jump but you cant teach it bottle
  16. thats nice gibbo, made good use of space
  17. on a trip to Ireland couple years back i met a man that kept staying/digging terriers and he'd refuse to enter them in the rocks. His words were "you need a w@nker that can dance like a cat" Can't comment as no experience with rockpiles but the phrase made me chuckle.
  18. nice pics Cwn Hela & Foxdigger - i know you shouldnt judge on looks but i prefer a rough lurcher foxdigger, what x is that bitch
  19. like that, how old? are all that line capable of similar work (with hounds etc)?
  20. Are you sure half the c**ts on here want a dog given to them and won't spend more than 12 quid on a sack off dog grub. twelve quid, cant stand these flash harrys splashing the cash
