  3. Correct they are able to catch and kill the grey squirrel but they will also kill every other small animal or game birds they come in contact with and wipe out a pen of fowl if they gain entry.A local man to me actually seen forestry reps releasing pine martin into a young forestry but yet at an nargc meeting when asked they denied this. when i was told this would help reds re establish, i asked how and they reckon the reds are lighter so can go further out on branches than a grey can to avoid the marten, it sounded a bit far fetched to me but who knows, never seen a red. We have beech &

  9. As per the last few years we'll be having an auction and this year we have been very fortunate to have a great selection of items. Closer to the time i'll give you a heads up on what's being auctioned, and who kindly donated, but ALL proceeds will go to the hounds.
  10. the litter in ireland on the ground now is out of two tried and tested parents so you'd have a good starting point
  11. in fairness these lurchers aren't tracking wounded game, they're casting out to find a something, Some of these places are barren as hell, like hunting on the moon so the dog puts in a lot of work before it even gets near to the quarry. most of them seem to be purpose bred from worker to worker with collie/hound/bull in various amounts - although I hear GWP blood is being introduced lately Yup see that point mate.I'm interested in this topic the pros and cons.I'm no expert on these foxhounds but keen to read more about it Neither am I mate, just commenting on what I have seen.

  13. but if you were foxing on the open mountain that's the most important quality , something hanging round your feet waiting to get sighted would be useless. I'm sure they have a place but would agree they wouldn't suit most people.
  14. i think the hound is a long way back in the breeding, they're mainly collie grey bull grey - they work how he wants them to so i wouldnt say hes messed anything up
  15. I got one back from my mp saying he'd vote to repeal.
  16. Which one is Vodka mate?
  17. sounds like that bitch would have become a legend if you'd given her to some of the THL gang!
  18. id say its the tory mps on the fence that need targeting, take it as read that Labour will vote against, any that dont is a bonus. i'm working on my MP, Simon Hart, I hope the listens to me LOL
  19. genuine people will go the extra mile for a good pup. I know a little about this litter and have been offered one, for this particular X I think you'd struggle to find better.
  20. They still have to negotiate with Cameron on more devolution powers, maybe this is why the repeal is being pushed along by Westminster. I'd like to think he could lean on them to not vote in return for more favourable negotiations down the line? Do the antis realise you can still hunt with a full pack in Scotland, providing there's a few guns there?
  21. if he is that big would he fit to ground ive known of hounds, beagles, spaniels and lurchers to ground. so he'd get on in some places no bother.
