  13. Bull Terriers are in general a noisy breed , maybe be easier to get sounders than the more mute SBT , back in 1970s it was also easier to find racy bull terriers ,compared to SBTs.... so easier to get offspring narrow enough to go to ground,,?
  14. I don't think , when these crosses ware done,,, that there was any big plan ,,,it was usually done by people who just happened to have a bull terrier in their yard and did it ,,,
  15. But all the bloodline that get real tight ,,usually produce weak low standard dogs ,,, any how who said ,,all dogs in Europe , East Europe are scatter bred,,? the lines I'm going by that are very tight bred ,,that are now poor dogs ,,are Colby , Old Family red nose , Mayfield ,, Nobody said the European dogs are all scatter bred, but I know they liked to breed best to best. I've been on certain forums and the boys from the east don't half like to brag about how superior their dogs are because of the rules they use.... 18. Tbh the Eastern Europeans know little about line breeding and such, they are generally scatterbred dogs selected from best to best matings... Are tight bred dogs any better bred,,? the east European dogs are as good as any dogs,,, its the results that show if a breeding is good, plenty of these tight bred dogs ,,like Mayfield, Colby , Old family red nose strains,,usually bred for their peds ,,, and have a low percentage of good dogs...

  22. No APBTs ever come merle , if they come that colour , they are not APBTs ,,,some mut has being added I've heard first hand from dogmen in America of the odd merle popping up in some litters never heard of one being allowed to grow on though. If it didn't pop up from time to time in APBT lines why would they bother to explicitly ban the colour in the standard? It pops up in some lines but it's undesirable because it shows a link to the general purpose farm bulldogs used as backcrosses in the early days of the breed. It doesn't make dogs expressing the merle gene any less pure though, ju
