    I know the shooting season doesnt start until august but i am just asking before hand if anyone knows where beaters are needed in the north east/county durham/north yorkshire area. I will travel and quit happily do it for free, i havent got a dog to bring along on the beats but i just want to be out! Thanks in advance for any replies. ATB BD1

    as said above, a cobra TT will do the job. They're used on the railways for packing ballest and will easily break through concrete. They run on petrol and you can rent them from most local tool hire merchants. Good luck with getting the bitch out.

    david harcombe books are also very useful but the best thing for you to do would be to get to know a local terrier man who knows what he's doing. If you manage to do that then he will show you the correct way to go about things. First hand experience will give you a better insight than any books. Atb BD1

    looks a nice strong bitch mate, hope she makes the grade for you.

    my dad used to work a bedlington x along side the hawks and she was great, had an excellent nose on her. We used to take her out flushing for the lurchers aswel, many a time she caught pheasents but she never once whent for the hawks. She's 14 now but worked up untill the age of 12.

    know how you feel mate, lost one myself yesterday. Only 18 months aswel, she was a promising young bitch aswel.

    I prefer a dig any day, dont get me wrong a bolt in some situations is better but i like a dog to keep the quarry busy and not give it the opurtunity to bolt. You can't beat a good dig!

    As the title states, i've been thinking about joining a club but i dont really know how to go about it. I've been searching the net for the durham and northumbria but i cant seem to find out how to sign up. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Cheers blackdog1
