  1. Last weekend I shot a rabbit with a 22LR and pritty much took its skull off, you could see clear daylight though the hole in its head and yet it jumped around like I had shot it in the arse! must of made at least a foot in the air Was brilliant wish I had filmed it! I always go for a head shot It produces a quick dignified death for the target, they dont know they are flopping around after they have been shot the body cant feel pain without the brain, its just electrical pulses and nerves twitching. I find my .22 does a better job of putting them down stone dead just because the incr

  3. I have just been through the whole FAC thing.. my FAO was not happy with me asking for a HMR for sole use on Fox, he said dont put Fox down as a reason for the HMR just put 'Long Range Vermin Control where a 22LR would not be suitable' His reasoning was, although you can shoot vermin with 17hmr and a fox is classed as vermin its not a suitable calibre for Foxs, he said the minimum that he (cambridgeshire) would allow is 22WMR for the sole use on fox. I dont know if this is just a local thing or what, anyway after putting the long range vermin line ive got my HMR approved. As it
  4. If your a BASC memebr contact them, they seem to get good results vs unreasonable police forces, and I believe its a free service (if your a member) ATB Adam

  7. Just got myself a Falcon Menace 5.5-25x50

  8. A friend of mine has one, he loves it, and the only time he gets problems is when he has used too much oil when cleaning, the rifle doesn't seem to like a lot of lube His is moderated too ATB Adam
  9. The American Indian sounds very Mexican! That's probably being used right now by antis to recruit more people into their ranks.. and more people than just her will believe that's how they kill badgers..my wife is probably one of them ATB Adam
  10. The one you have bought seems huge compared to the old battery, I bought one of these Li-ion ones, about the size of a mobile phone http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f17d97be7 Spot on, but the majority of nightsite owners buy different batteries it is a major flaw in the unit. ATB Adam
  11. I had one and its performance was good.. I think its a great idea just could have been done better... ie the battery is a house brick! and you can get the lithium ones for less than £20 ... so why not include a lithium one instead? most people buy the lithium battery and use it as an alternative. The camera focus can only be changed by childs fingers and the mounts to the scope arnt the best also you have to wrap the connection cables round the scope otherwise they hang down and catch on everything. But It works and its cheaper than other NV scopes and its ideal for airguns.
  12. Yeah hes alright .... ATB Adam
  13. Wow ive been looking for a higher mag scope for a while now and they all seem to be on the expensive side, but £50! Have you had any issues with them? i guess not if you have 4 Think ill order myself one and give it a try ATB Adam
  14. That looks great and a lot cheaper than the Weihrauch. The interchangable barrel could be the selling feature for me. I made the mistake of reading another tread last night and regarding .22 vs .17 and was undecided. How much are the .22lr barrels for the CZ and are they easy enough to swap? From what ive read they are screwed in and held in with a cupple of grub screws, cant be that hard to change or it wouldnt be a good feature :thumbs:As for price, sorry i dont knowATBAdam
  15. what the does that mean I have to say this is one reason why i dont come here as often as i did this post (pages) will probably beat the previous ones as regards the Graham brothers so can we let it drop now and move on to more interesting subjects Dave of Gloucester (and before you all start on me as i live in Gloucester check some of the previos meets that i have attended) is there a moderator who can close it amen Obviously never seen taken... Is a joke calm down don't worry you get back to you afternoon nap now Dont be so rude Learn to read a
  16. From CZ guns UK they retail at £409 new in 22LR or £439 in 17HMR, however im fairly sure if you look around you could get one for less The styling is great and it looks the part, also has the reviews to match Comes with a changable barrel feature for 17hmr / 22lr and 22WMR so you can swap if you feel the urge. http://www.czrifles....-action-rifles/ ATB Adam
  17. From what i can tell the shortening of the barrel does effect the MV of the round and if too long you get a slowing effect from friction, too short you get a slowing effect because the pressure dosnt build up to full potential, however from what most say the difference isnt that noticable. I was under the impression that to a certain extent the longer the barrel the more accurate the rifle would be, however the 4" seems to make little difference. So from what i can conclude.... it dosnt make much of a difference and the human error factor will outweight any pro/con from the different l
  18. Im going for a CZ 455 (thumbhole laminate stock) for my HMR, fairly cheap yet looks very nice and good reviews ATB Adam
  19. short if you shoot from a vehicle and they look better when a mods fitted more like a gun and less like a drain rod Haha apart from the asthetics, any actual performance benefits? I wont be shooting from my car it would get stuck on the garden lawn let alone trudging through the cow fields!ATBAdam
  20. In Ireland all Air Rifles require an FAC - Huntersvermin channel on youtube often makes reference to this ATB Adam
  21. Hello All, Im going to buy a 17HMR and i see they come in two regular sizes, 16inch barrel and 20 inch. Aside from the obvious, one is shorter and less weildy when shooting from a vehicle - whats the benifit of having the shorter/longer barrel? The shorter barreled versions cost more, so do the benifits outweight the extra pricetag? ATB Adam
  22. Would swap for an FAC .22 Rapid mkII ATB Adam
