  4. Congrats on your first permission. Best advice I can offer is look after it they are normally hard to get but very easy to lose Hopefully we will hear some hunting stories from you in the future Best of luck ATB Adam
  5. Looks like it could be a good competition rifle! Adi is a top bloke and his work is excellent, I always send my rifles to him when I need anything doing Cant wait to see some groupings and what it can do ATB Adam
  6. Ill be the one dragging the wife round to look at (as she puts it) 'more shooting rubbish' So if you see a disgruntled woman with child.... I'm the bloke she is with Haha hopefully see you sunday! ATB Adam

  8. Haha I don't want try that I have an image of the head staying in my hand and a spray of blood and pigeon is at disconnects! Haha it sometimes happens but more often than not it dosnt, you will get a feel for it ATB Adam
  9. Ive had nerves twitching after they have been dead for a few minutes.. even after the head has come off you can still get it, its just electrical impulses in the muscles, a little un-nerving but its normal and I wouldn't worry about it Every bird I shoot now, even if they look stone dead, I give them a final neck swing just to make sure they are gone. I just hold the head then flick them over in a circular motion with a sharp stop at the bottom, breaks every time ATB Adam
  10. Great shooting Ste, Love the second shot on the white rat, can see the pellet scream towards its head! lovely ATB Adam
  11. Thats not the one on here that was rescued from the gypsies now is it? ..... Where it was bought for a christmas present for the kids ... ATB Adam
  12. I dont know if they marked them up, my dad has an old one and its a superb little shooter Ive seen two different looks (the old mans) one is a smooth stock with very little shaping and a metal bolt handle with a small knurl like a BSA s10 original handle (if you know what one of those looks like) and the other is more shapley and has a different bolt handle, more chunky and made of a black composite material If you get any issues take it to A&M custom gunsmiths, only down the road from Worksop and Adi will sort any problem. ATB Adam
  13. So, all the miles I carried my 270 like that in the mountains of New Zealand on the eradication scheme of the 70s where I was shooting between 50 and 200 deer a day, not to mention the goats and tahr when we moved south....and the miles through the Irish mountains, Donegal National Park, Killarney National Park and Wicklow Mountains I was too tired to shoot the 450 animals a year I was getting was I. No - did I say you were too tired? I said muscles fatigue like that and that has an effect on accuracy That statement was a generalisation and not a directed remark ATB Adam
  14. Especially if Your like Adam in the Noodle Arms Club, Don't bother with slings, I just carry My guns around Patrol Style atvb Daz 7 Thats fighting talk! ATB Adam
  15. I have a 'cobra' style one on my rimmy, works great, really sturdy, no noise, nice leather, and if you know how to use a sling correctly can be a great aide when taking less stable shots such as standing / kneeling Mine has spring loaded fastners which lock into the QD studs so even if they come loose they cannot fall off the studs without being operated by hand Also when you carry the rifle in the crook of your arms on a stalk the muscles become fatigued which also has an effect on accuracy - alright for a little huntsman but if you carry a larger rifle round you will soon know ab
  16. Ahh many apologies if im wrong, The one I looked at on uttings looked like it had side focus and no front focus but after looking it might be a Varmint picture with a Panorama name I was also under the impression Si had one on his HW97KT and that was Side focus..... http://www.uttings.c...ir-rifle-scope/ My bad Still a very good scope though ATB Adam
  17. Well FAC air is very similar to normal Air so any decent scope will work fine. There are many many makes out there but you cant really go wrong with a Hawke for airguns & you can use the chairgun software with it to help accuracy. I would go for a Hawke Panorama EV4-12x50 - good spec (side focus, IR) and not top end prices ATB Adam
  18. Looks very nice mate! If it shoots like your SFS HW ... I think the HFT scene wont know whats hit them! Keep us posted ATB Adam
  19. Great start Davy mate, Hope you and Si have a very good 2013 with many many videos to come! My first outing is at a new permission tonight so fingers crossed!! ATB Adam
  20. I think they are ideal HFT scopes for Air rifles & for the prescision shooter, but a little hefty for carrying around for the general shooter What says you Daz? I might have to get weaver fittings so i can switch it between my rimmy and my springer for the comp ATB Adam
  21. Are they suitable for rimmy/CF aswell Adam, or are they designed for air rifle? If it is a ffp scope, there should be no reason it won't be true at all magnifications, as the reticle and image get magnified together. Yeah they are perfectly fine for Rimfire / Centre Fire, I would even say they are a bit OTT for Air Rifles perhaps a 4-16x44 would be better for air rifles Once my mounts come through the post ill be testing it on my rimmy more, was a little awkward before as I didnt have enough eye relief with the standard mounts ontop of the split CZ rail. Yeah thats what i w
