    If you pay treble price for something let's say 1000 out of a top yard and had an % chance of getting a good dog it would be better than paying 300 for a scatter bred dog with a 10% chance of success and maybe go through 5 of them before you get what you want at the loss of a decade in training and enormous expence. Plus a fully trained buccleugh pup that was a failed trialer for small faults will still fetch a good price and could make a very good picking up/beating dog for someone and recover most of original cost.

    I have a dog 14 months that still squats when pissing he hasn't started cocking his leg yet, they are slower to mature than terriers. Why would you want the bitch in season yet? she's too young/inexperienced to breed so it's just an unwanted nuisance at an important stage of her training/career in mid season.

    A non registered chip in law is the same as having no chip so it's pointless chipping them at all but I still think it would be hard for them to prove a dog hasn't been chipped because chips can fail like scanning a wet dog for example the chip doesn't read if dog is wet.     Like the other thread with the big white hunter and his death battle with leopard when in reality they slaughtered hundreds of thousands of big cats without injury and if there was it was usually the guide getting ate and forgotten about because of his colour.     I'd like to point out that it's only really South Africa where lions are bred for ranch type hunting. Cecil was a wild lion and was hunted in open country designated for such around the highly protected national parks. The conservancies and private estates that operate in these lands provide conservation minded revenue streams that mean they act as conservation buffer zones between the national parks and the more destructive farming orientated and urbanised areas. which means what? Will they shoot gazelles impalala or whatever to help a group of cubs or a young pride starting out to get a leg

    what if they were a willing participant and didn't know it was wrong until they were older. There's plenty of things parents don't know about their kids because they don't want them to know. Unless people have been in the position it's hard to tell what they would do. As for preventative measures and not allowing sleepovers the fact is a large percentage of kids are abused in their own homes by people they trust e.g. Family and friends. I haven't been in the position myself thank fcuk but there's plenty of cases in Ireland of kids coming home from church to tell there parents they were abused

    I would imagine under Irish law it is illegal unless it's a vet maybe I'm wrong. I would imagine it is only possible for an unqualified person to shoot a dog if they are an immediate danger or worrying livestock.
