  1. It's a mine field lads, I'm sure most of us will also be well aware that different types or makes of chrono also show different readings, based on many variables such as lighting and such. Where does the buck stop? So many variables! That's why my rifle will eventually hopefully be around the 10ft/lb mark so no matter what pellet or chrono is used it will be ok. I have heard of some people purchasing brand new guns and them being well over the limit. Frightening! Mawders
  2. Flipping quality little vid Elliott mate! You can keep them coming! Nice rifle to boot! Oh and your idea of breezy and mine are clearly two different things ha ha, that would be a nightmare to shoot in down here. All the best Phil.
  3. Brilliant shooting and lovely rifle! Love the Homer Simpson bit lol!
  4. Barnze I really feel for you, that's the news no airgunner that hunts wants to hear! Others have offered good advice, the only thing I can suggest is you go back to him in a few weeks and try to talk about it when he has calmed down a bit, take a bottle of the good stuff for him. You never know he might realise it was an error to get rid of you so quick. All the best mate and I hope this gets sorted soon!
  5. Wow if I was you I would keep that 77 gem and get it tuned with a nice scope setup as well unless it already has a nice scope. The tx or the prosport won't do any more than your 77 can. ATB Mawders
  6. Loved the write up mate, looks like you had a good day there, the pictures look awesome, nice permission. Those 77's really were the pinnacle of spring piston shooting in the day and still hold their brilliance now!
  7. Footage would be great buddy, I'm going to bed mine in and then maybe film something shooting some groups or smallish objects if for my amusement than anything else. These SFS rifles really are something special wouldn't you agree? I can't comment on any other tuners rifles as I havnt shot any but SFS tunes are pure awesomeness! Phil
  8. Cracking rifle, should serve you well and loving the green stock! I love seeing little limited addition runs of rifles come out. Should hold its value if you ever decide to sell.
  9. Awesome shooting Stuart, superb looking rifle!
  10. Cracking pictures of the heart there! It's life, it happens, its not nice but if deal with it quickly then that's all you can do. It always gives me a sick feeling when I miss judge a shot or something out of my control happens such as gust of wind, vermin moving at last second or unseen obstacle, really ruins my day. The only time I do get angry is when I see or hear someone purposely taking pot shots at any living creature just to hit it! No ones perfect, even the best shots on here must from time to time miss judge a shot. Mawders
  11. Cheers Aaron buddy that's impressive shooting hitting drawing pins out to 35 yards with the 97 mate! I'm waiting for a calm day to get down the farm and try mine out on small objects like that! I hope with practice mate I'll be able to do that one day. Mawders
  12. Thanks wurz, I think if I ever get one again ill try and get a second hand one. Seems they were better built.
  13. Very true fry I thought that as well haha, it was 16 years ago roughly I had a BSA supersport! My first proper rifle!
  14. Well played fellow addict. Iron sights really does bring back some golden moments of childhood learning to shoot, hitting tin cans at 10 yards! Epic.
  15. Cheers andy and Ben. It was hard work writing all that I can tell you ha ha, couple of hours for two nights to get it all down then edit the pictures in. I enjoy writing about things I'm passionate about. I can't use big words as its not in my vocabulary, what you see is what you get, I don't mince my words and prefer to be truthful. My writing skill is very basic to say the least lol. Still I'm planning to start reviewing airgun items giving a non biased straight to the point review. If it pays off or not with regards to people being interested who knows lol. It will be as and when I buy kit
  16. Lovely rifle and cracking bag!
  17. Brilliant read pal, its lovely to see the older spring rifles getting more attention these days! I've always been a spring piston man, moved across to pcp last year to see what the hype was about and soon hated it so moved back to spring after only a few months. That's some good shooting on the squizzers! My Fav vermin to shoot!
  18. I've always used .22 since I was a kid and now at 31 I recently moved across to .177 and I'm laughing. Don't think I'll move back to .22 unless it were something very very special. Unfortunately I grew up with air rifles in that ignorant time when .177 was seen as inferior for hunting and only appropriate for hitting paper targets. All I can say is I wish I made the move over years ago! .177 is brilliant, cheaper pellets, flatter trajectory, and they travel really fast giving what your aiming at less chance of moving. If going for a spring rifle in .177 the recoil is slightly more pu
  19. Hey trench, cheers. I don't think its a wide problem at all maybe just a bad batch but time will tell. I have not emailed AA yet. It's on my to do list which is growing. When I first rang them they didn't seem surprised so maybe others have returned them for fixing, who knows? What I can say is their customer service is second to none!
  20. I knew someone more tech savvy would be along to give the technical reason! Cheers Davey, all I knew was it was supposed to be that way! Lol Phil
  21. Hey Tim can't wait to come down mate, looking forward to that and I reckon your right, AA need to take a look at what's going wrong! I reckon its the new ones, your testimony of 70,000 shots proves they used to be bloody good rifles. Can't wait to try yours out but for now I'm happier than a fat kid with cake! The HW really is impressing me especially after the work tony has put into it! Awesome rifle! Tony and the team work wonders on their rifles. Phil.
  22. It's got to have a little movement as depending on how you cock the rifle you'll never cock straight down so a little play is good.
