  1. Can't agree enough with others about the tx being your first gun you should buy. I think its important for everyone starting off with air rifles to start with a springer as it will reach you to shoot properly and you'll soon learn technique that will carry you forward to being an excellent shot with both spring piston and pcp air rifles! Then when you shoot your pcp you'll be amazed at how easy they are. Mawders
  2. Interesting post, I might try some of those in my 97KT and see if they group well. Cheers buddy. Mawders
  3. I thought they only sold them in 5.53 head size.
  4. Hey bracken thanks for commenting. Mine was that bad a squeak it was useless in the field! It really was loud lol. They are cracking looking rifles arnt they! Wish I could have kept mine!
  5. Your right Evo that's why I took out a rabbit and a magpie at 60 and 70 yards respectively! Witnessed by other members on here. X
  6. Simply brilliant, looks like you will treasure that rifle for years to come! Phil
  7. Benji how do you get on with hunting with the silver action? I would be concerned the vermin population would spot it straight away, although judging by the fact you downed that pigeon it mustn't make that much difference. Phil
  8. Looks delicious mate! All I need now is that elusive main ingredient, Rabbit! Made me soooo hungry watching that. Well played pal! Mawders
  9. Looks awesome mate and alot better than the plastic. Looks like a properly modded 97 that! Unique. ;-)
  10. Ohhh now that sounds like an awesome challenge! What range are we talking? I was hitting drawing pin heads at a lased 30 yards today with s2 tuned 97kt. Sounds fun. Phil
  11. .177 will recoil alot more than .22. The 97 in synthetic isn't to my liking either, I shouldered one and fired it and also heard that strange ping sound coming from the stock. I've never been a fan of the plastic stocks tbh! Be interesting to see your 97 in a 77 stock, I didn't realise you could swap them over that easily.
  12. Hi mate, Mine is still going up buddy, after 20 shots it went from 10ft/lb to 10.3. I'll hopefully be putting a good 100 of so through over the weekend so I'll let you know. I would imagine it will go up another 2ft/lb by the end of 500 shots maybe less so yes, it will be going back, its just a question of when. All the SFS rifles I have owned or know of have had to go back after a month or so to have the power taken down. Once the rifles properly bedded in though it should not creep up much more. Phil
  13. Benjamin keep an eye on your power output mate, it will shoot up very quickly as it beds in. Sometimes within a few hundred pellets. Phil
  14. Accupells are also supposed to be good in the 97 barrel, I might have to invest in a tin on payday!
  15. Ohhh thats interesting, ive never owned one gun yet that got on well with superdomes and whats more they are one of the cheapest pellets going, if your rifle likes them, then you will save yourself a few quid.
  16. Ha ha I'll have a go at this tomorrow if the weather holds off!
  17. Awesome result pal and that s200 looks the nuts with that camo round it! Well played! Phil
  18. At the moment I've only been out with it once on a very windy day but it seemed to like AA fields in 4,52 head size. I've got some rws superfield to try as well. What are you using mate?
  19. Well done buddy, SFS truly make exceptional rifles so much better with their tunes! Mines still waiting to be blooded as I've been working and the weathers been naff here! Hoping to get a few hours in tomorrow though! Phil
  20. Very good but I thought milky bars were made by nestle?
  21. That's a cracking looking rifle you have there Taz. They really are cracking rifles the tx200. My hunting partner has one that's a mk2 and its never been serviced or had any work done on it and its still going strong never missed a beat, like old faithful! It's also about 16 years old to put it in perspective! In jan last year I owned a tx200 mk3 hc in .22 cal and I couldn't fault it at all! I only sold it as I got tempted into the pcp world where I soon realised my mistake and went back to springer. Don't get me wrong pcp have their place and have far more benefits to spring piston rifle
  22. Craig that's a quality post mate, thanks for sharing, work and weather here is stopping me having an outing at the moment. That jack pyke outfit looks awesome mate. ATB Mawders
  23. Probably best you post some pictures on this thread so we can see the level of rust on the gun. Depending on how bad it is very much dictates what method will be best to remove it. I also agree an AA official spring will perform alot better than that ox spring!
