    Any recommendations on a tune kit? Reckon i should keep it sub 12flbs or go FAC with it? It bucks a fair bit now. Anyone have experience with a HW80 in fac?

    Picked this HW80 up a couple of days ago on a local face-book classifieds. Got it for next to nothing, the guy is immigrating and clearing all his stuff he didn't realize what he had or didn't care. Plan do something nice with it. It has been painted but not a bad thing as it has protected it also hid what it actually was . It is clean and no pitting underneath so the paint will be the first to go. Stock also been rather enthusiastically rubbed down and varnished, the checkering nearly sanded right off so that will need sorted too. She bucks a bit but the port hasn't been bored out so

    Bloody Hell Griff, I thought I'd accidentally logged on to my ex Mother in Laws Facebook profile picture! lol I quite like that in a funny kind of way (the skull, not the old witches Facebook page!). :laugh: :laugh: Would look good in the back window of the car, like one of those dogs with the wagging tail..... except this one with the eyes and jaw springing up and down!

    Another experimental knife made from an old circular saw blade, bevel on one side only, micarta handle with copper wire in the layers.

    Afraid it was sold before it was made. A guy saw the hunter i made and wanted a drop point in the same style so it was made on commission.

    Got the Kydex case finished last-night so that's this one complete and ready to send to it's new owner. Sussex and any others that are interested18.5 hrs start to finish.

    I snatched a bit of time here and there over the last week to do a bit more on the drop point. Blue denim/ red fleece micarta cast direct on the handle. Roughed out on the bandsaw Micarta shaped up and polished. Knife nearing completion.

    Give it a go W.K if you search around on the Google-net you can pick of a fairly cheap 01 blank ...plenty on Hennie https://www.heinnie.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=blank You end up with a decent blade for not much cash, a lot of time & satisfaction. Griff

    Not clear if it was a blank Ricky used or not. "It's from 4mm o1 tool steel, cheap and widely available" If so a blank is a good way to get a taste for knife making so not to be discouraged. After all a lot of production knife makers revert to laser/ water cut blanks all be it to their own design. Griff
