  1. Nice one! Done a good job of fitting the coin Jok, not easy to do. Griff
  2. Thanks Rabid, the wolf paw Opinel holding up alright? Griff Yes, no problems at all, although I try not to use it too much for fear of breaking/losing it. First carve i did that one so a bit of nostalgia with it, Nice to hear it is being looked after. Griff
  3. Thanks Rabid, the wolf paw Opinel holding up alright? Griff
  4. Cheers David. Can't fault Royal mail, whole length of the country in less than 24hrs! Griff
  5. It's a nice bit of kit mate Particularly nice piece of antler that one(compliments of Sussex), most have a pithy core but that one is solid white bone right through. Can never tell until you start working with it. Griff

  8. Will give you a shout. That one is going to Vienna Austria! First international sale! Griff
  9. I will have to take a look. I got the idea from searching fiction folder on google images....the rest i just made up as i went along. The idea was to make a legal carry knife (blade is 65mm) with durable cutting edge and a decent point. I sharpened it up, sliced up a medium size cardboard box into 1" strips and it still slices paper held between thumb & forefinger..... so i think mission accomplished.
  10. Made up this simple folder at the weekend. Calling it "Tinkers Companion" as i made it from what was lying around. Blade id a piece of HSS knife out of my Planer/thicknesser cold ground to retain original temper. Handle a cutting of antler. Stainless pins with brass seats made from rollers out of old curtain track. Phosphor bronze contact plates. Silver buffalo end cap. More pics here http://s166.photobucket.com/user/gruffalogriff/library/Tinkers%20Companion?sort=3&page=1
  11. Look forward to seeing the pics of the stick. Only place i go is the shed!
  12. Plenty of antler now to play with....just need to find the time. Fallow antler compliments of sussex, top bloke thank you! Also just had a long weekend and got some Highland red stag from a stalker on the west coast.
  13. Just checked the price of a Dyson hair drier Think you have a good case to buy another knife.....in fact if you are doing a trade-off you could have two for that price! Griff
  14. Finally caught up on back orders and have these 2 antler tine Opinels to offer. They both have self lubricating phosphor bronze liners in the pivot end which in a good upgrade on the standard method. No7 £60 posted No8 £65 posted. Griff
  15. Been a while since i made a knife from scratch, made up this design a while back and decided to give it a go. Blade 5 inches landy leaf spring, handle 4.25 inch micarta cast direct on/through the tang, Kydex sheath with Tek-Lok. Wide blade for skinning, pointy enough to be useful, tough spring steel that takes a good edge but will take punishment. I have a bigger one i use for everything and love it. Few WIP pics here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/339556-make-your-own-tools-thread/page-19 And additional pics here http://s166.photobucket.com/user/gruffalogriff/library/Hunter?so
  16. Yes all's well that ends well! Just a case of finding the right person....better off sitting in a collection that one! Just going to list the 5" blade Hunter/skinner, it is more of a practical working mans knife! http://s166.photobucket.com/user/gruffalogriff/library/Hunter?sort=3&page=1 Griff
  17. Nice looking antler that, where do you get it form? Do you do anything with the tapered tip cut off? Griff
  18. SOLD! Thanks lads for all the banter...its been fun...hope no offense given and certainly none taken............ Didn't quite make it to the 10 pages but did make it to the front page hall of fame in most replies in the miscellaneous. Now on its way to a collector in London. Griff
