  1. Same as above and also , a Tennis court and Football pitch would surely be classed as a public place so you would have been shooting toward's a public area. Argue that one in court.
  2. could be lot's of thing's. You don't say what kind of target's you mean, going away , crosser's , etc. I think your best bet would be to ask an experienced shooter to stand behind you to see what's happening. If it's slowing down then it will also be dropping and you could be shooting high , crosser , not enough lead or high or in front, might be stopping the gun. . . could be anything
  3. Yet another great day's hunting today with Old Dog and his pack. Trying to keep up is a tough challenge, I swear he gives them Red Bull before hunting. These hounds are a pleasure to try and follow and are making sure that Old Dog's 25th season is a memorable one. With season's end nearing I think this summer is going to be a very long one.
  4. I found that I lost too much light through a green filter , but everyone see's thing's differently.
  5. This might be useful to you for comparison www.guntrader.co.uk
  6. John uses 36gm to 55 yds , I use 42gm BB's but for year's I used 42gm 1's, but won't fire at anything over 50 yds.
  7. why are you using 2 1/4oz load's? What gun and choke are you using?
  8. You've never tried doing it or your doing something wrong if you missed. Distance is immaterial
  9. Tape the lamp under the barrel or get a lamp with a barrel mounting kit , or rest the shotgun on top of your wrist of the hand holding the lamp

  11. your battery would last much longer but you would have poor light compared to the 100 watt bulb . Make sure the new bulb is positioned the same as the old one or it will affect your beam or spot.
  12. last thing I got from USA , 20% VAT and carriage had to be paid to Parcel Force before delivery.
  13. It was explained to me by a County Council Highway's jobsworth that if I own land on the roadside i own the land that the road sit's on , to the middle of the road. if I own land both sides of the road then i own all the land that the road is on. The public has a right of way over the road and the council has to maintain it. If the road was taken from there then the land goes back to the land owner either side. That was his explanation to me.
  14. As long as you have permission to stand in the middle of the road and shoot! The Law seems to have been mis interpreted over the years and many appear to understand you MUST be 50' from the road, that is not the case as you can see! My understanding was Must be 50ft from the road. Theoreticaly, if I owned the roadside land on both side's, then I own the land that the road sit's on, therefore permission wouldn't be a problem
  15. So that mean's I could fire a gun while standing in the middle of the road , as long as nobody is injured , interrupted or endangered ?
  16. Thank's Deker, Fox after someone's chicken's in the Village. Called my FEO lunchtime for advice. Unrestricted licence ,shoot anywhere as long as you have permission, it's safe and more than 50 feet from the centre of the highway.
  17. Does anyone know if it's lawful to use a firearm in a built up area?
  18. The arm length test is a rough guide but the arm need's to be bent at the elbow to 90 degree's, then the butpad should fit snugly against your upper arm with a comfortable hand grip , trigger resting half way from fingertip to first joint. If your eye is positioned correctly along the rib at present , by lengthening the stock your eye will be positioned further back on the stock , which mean's it will be lower in relation to the rib which might mean that you can't see your target clearly enough with the correct eye. www.shootclay.co.uk , you might get some further advice there.
  19. That last photo deserves to be enlarged and framed. Great pic
  20. Been using a red filter on + off for year's. Last winter they weren't holding very well on red , tried Green but lost too much light and ended up with an Orange filter . Plenty of light and felt as if I was invisible. Best filter i've tried yet.
  21. If it's a new semi your after, many of them are supplied with wedge spacers to insert between the stock and the action to change the fit , drop / lift / cast on / cast off,
  22. I'm using 35grain Berger's with N530, great stopping power and 3 in 1 hole at 100yds. doing 4116fps through a chrono
