Well I pulled my garlic today some quite nice bulbs. Few small ones so bought them home and few whoppers so they have gone in the for seed section. All spread out on a wire rack in the shed smelling nice Would liked to have given a few more weeks but they started to get rust and I didn't want that getting across onto the onion beds as they will be around for a month or two yet -

Funny you should say that I have sowed numerous lots of carrots going back upto 5 weeks and yet to see one emerge. The last few rows I covered in compost in case it was a crust blocking them but I am not hopeful. My neighbour then just slung a row in and has nice little inch high tops in no time at all. he used the same variety as me too. Very puzzling going to buy a new packet of seed tomorrow get some good old sutton seeds Very frustrating as we eat lots so wanted a good few for the winter but at this rate we will be buying them -

Got the beans iin place today left 3 behind in the back yard for seed Plenty of root in the toilet rolls I would have planted direct but I was waiting for space. Been eating cabbage like an idiot to free up room sweet corn planted out too netted the onions because some thing has been taking the tops off and in places whole onions have gone. I suspect the old corvids maybe. The slugs enjoy my lettuce too -

Best Bushing, Ratting And Ferreting Terrier
terryd replied to pegstaff's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Did think about a cocker, however I want a dog to take ratting too. surely I can get a terrier that wont go to ground and just rats. all terriers that will exell at ratting - bushing are liable to go to ground. its sods law . That is my thinking a good worker is a good worker and will take on a rat, rabbit or a fox with equal enthusiasm so you better find a comfy spade to carry if you get a decent terrier -

I gave up using onion sets years ago as they always bolted on me. If you nip the flower stalk off and use them ASAP they are still all right to use straight away. TC They won't go to waste that is for sure I also have some grown from seed this year will be interesting to see how they fair as well -

Yea they wiped out three sowing of peas for me the peas never made it to the surface. But then I read about using paraffin just roll the peas around in it for 10 seconds and them ones have all come up.
