  1. Spatchcock chicken....a Catterick inspired dinner
  2. You havnt said what cross it is and how much Bull etc but, anyway I wouldnt of wanted my 9month old pup to run into a Fox, its too young. I wouldnt start a pup until its at least 15months and the nearer to 2 year the better. Did you know the parents?
  3. It looks Beddy/whippet mongrel type. Mick the miller could look like that if hed just come to a new home from a rescue, he just needs to settle in. They usually castrate the poor fckers in these recue places aswell..
  4. Not sure how old this photo is but I think you can see a bit of Bully influence in these litte Whippets. I agree with you they are a pleasure to look at and although its nothing to do with ability it is part of the pleasure of keeping dogs. Nothing worse than ugly hounds but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  5. She was actually line bred half cross. She was really good at catching on the lamp, and great when rabbit numbers were about.
  6. Youre dead right mate. A dog may have a big heart but it doesnt help it to do his job, and its the wrong job for him really
  7. Yes they are lurchers so you take it in that context.
  8. This might be the same bitch or her sister, I cant remember, I think most of the litter turned out.
  9. Youve got a good bite anyway old thing?
  10. A good Bull/whippet with a great strike. She caught all sorts.
  11. Youre a hard guy.....but also ethical...two faced git kind of thing?
  12. And you sound like Rolph harris mate?
  13. All my dogs are fully ethical. The rabbits love it.
  14. I think you misunderstood me slightly. If you read it again Im only saying lack of size tests them more which of course it does if they go to work in the proper way. I am not saying that anyone wants it. Btw you can only test gameness under duress obviously. Thats why in the old days they baited bears and Bulls. Dogs that kill anything quickly can only be tested for killing, you cant know if its game. It doesnt say it isnt but you cant know. You dont want to "push them to breaking" as you put it but rather push them to NOT breaking. I also said you are better with a Bull Greyhound (b
  15. Very nice, some call it perpetual spinach but its not spinach its chard.
  16. I got one. Id seen it a few times and noticed I could get very close to it (no gun) without it seeing me. We trapped him eventually.
  17. The Griffens change a lot dont they?. A lot of Beagles about now have got all sorts in them I think.
  18. A proper Bullwhippet is more than just a rabbiting dog, and their lack of size only goes to test them more, but personally I think you are better off with either a rabbiting dog or a Bullgreyhound which makes it more effective for bigger things
  19. Great looking dogs. Id love to see one work but never have had the opportunity. Im a bit suspicious of anything having Mastiff in it, as the only thing Ive seen dogs do with mastiff influence is bite people and other dogs, but quit the intended job cold. I dont doubt that your dogs work if you say they do, and they look active beasts, good luck with them.
  20. Yes I agree it could be, its on a large scale, but its a treat anyway.
  21. Shot these 2 bucks and a doe between 6 and 8 in the evening, I didnt see any young ones about
