Spot on I agree. He opened up a world of storytellers, book writers and posers. Ive read a lot of his books, and derived entertainment from them, in the same way I would from watching the office. He was a great influence on a lot of young lads in starting out, but he didnt encourage he just made most feel inferior because they could never achieve the kind of feats he spoke of as normal. A lot of lads were frustrated that their little Collie lurchers were not smashing Foxs every week like Merle!! What a joke!! A dynasty!! Grandiose, deluded, like a lot of school teachers.
