  1. I did the Safe Use of Aluminum Phosphide course/exam as part of a larger course and now have the ticket to use it. Do I use it? No. It's rubbish on moles and I love trapping them, and there are too many boys out there doing rabbit control for free to make it worth my while buying all the gear.
  2. If they are still available I will have a look and will pick up. Cheers, Steve
  3. My advice: wear gloves, all sorts of nasty stuff around from dog and fox shite to god knows what. And yeah, why give out free tips?????????????????
  4. Got a bit of land that belongs to a customer I do rats and mice for. 2 or 3 large warrens on it, would need a couple of lads with ferrets. Monday daytime or Tuesday daytime only. If you are interested PM me.
  5. I think Duffus are the best, for me at least, but I always like to try something new. I also have Talpex which are very good, and I use them when I get a spooked mole, usually when DIY has gone horribly wrong. But Trapline, not sure at all. I will keep them though, you just never know.
  6. And I have walked away from plenty of jobs where they tried to turn me over on the price. I quoted on a bird proofing job the other week where the (potential) customer wanted to know if the price included cleaning all the moss off her dilapidated roof - errr no! Or the farm who wanted me to get rid of the rats for "freebies" as they didn't want to pay - feck off!
  7. I think I am doing it right. I put a couple down as I said but also use Duffus and they seem to always get the mole before the Trapline ones. Ho hum, maybe I will sell them!
  8. I bought half a dozen a year or so ago and give them a try every now and again. But I have never caught with them. Anyone had any luck?
  9. Sounds like a collarum is just the job then!?!?
  10. From what I understand if you have had a mental health issue then 18 months on (it may be a different length of time where you are) with no other problems you can re-apply. However, they will write to your Doctor for his opinion, so it may be worth speaking to him first as he could say that you aren't well enough to have a gun. Basically it's in the hands of the doctor and the police for their opinion of your mental health, if the Doctor gives you the green light then the police would need another reason to deny your licence. Obviously be as honest as you can with them. Good luck! N.B
  11. What if a dog walker found it!! ? rubbish bin, really? suppose a deep burial would be an option. what about having a big fire and sticking it on. Yes. bin bag and rubbish bin. Many times. There are no dog walkers near where I shoot. Some farms have a stink pit which the farmer lights every now and again. We are definitely related!
  12. Lucky you then dude Not really, I get a mole job in and when I get there I see they have lots of rabbits too. I usually get asked if I could do something about the rabbits as well, of course I say, but it's not a free service. 9 times out of 10 they say no, as there are lots of people who do it for free... Doesn't bother me, but I don't work for nothing.
  13. Its funny, I turn down opportunities to shoot as too many people want it done for free. And I charge!
  14. I'm after a hob and a couple of jills who come from good working stock as i will be using them. Need something close to Sussex though.
  15. Domestic £100 minimum. I run a business not a charity. Commercial work after a survey.
  16. Put a ball of earth in the middle of the trap under the trigger plate.
  17. Trapline are pretty good, if you don't mark them that is - providing you can find them afterwards!
