  1. How's the Bushnell shaping up moxy? I've never looked through one
  2. Nice going Skot, you seem to be grouping well with the Daystate Li's
  3. Nice place is Bowland, especially around the Trough. Dropped them off at the restaurant this morning. Rabbit bolognese should be on the menu by Friday
  4. And finished cleaning these up. Been on someone else's shoot in Settle, Yorkshire. Plenty of rabbits about.
  5. I've looked Geoff but stuck with the SAK for this reason. I think the DM80 is of the reflex type. Not cheap though
  6. I use the same but suspect any oil would do. No skimping on this one I'm afraid, if you get drenched put in the extra effort and strip the rifle, dry off any excess water, let it dry out and get it oiled up before putting it away. One little tip I have for you is to always carry a black bin bag with you. They scrunch up to nothing and if you find yourself in a heavy downpoor just put it over your rifle
  7. Top shooting Moxy, nice to see someone with healthy rabbit numbers, they're pretty thin on the ground around here. That Rapid seems to do the business for you. What do you do with the rabbits, eat them or sell them?
  8. Cheers. There are one or two rabbits but not enough to control so we let them breed in the hope that the population increases. Never seems to do so, mind
  9. The ones with the thumbhole stocks that I've seen are laminate
  10. Still blowing a gale and with frequent showers, I decided to have a walk and take the camera with me to provide an insight into some of the land I shoot over. The land in this video belongs to my family and at over 1,000ft consists of upland fields and moorland. Occasionally crows and magpies present themselves for a shot so I took the HMR with me just in case. Unfortunately no opportunities arrived but I was left with some footage to share
  11. Top shooting Stu, but where's the scope cam footage ATB, Elliott
  12. Thanks Gaz Hi webster, yes still using the Hawke Frontier 3-9x40. Perfect for the HW77K
  13. Well, I don't know what the weather has been like for you but up here in Lancaster we've had a terrible Winter, maybe not quite as bad as the guys flooded out down South but it really has been a write off as far as shooting is concerned. As I write I can hear the wind whirling down the flue of our struggling log burner and wheely bins crash and bang outside. We're expecting up to 100mph winds between 7pm and 11pm tonight.. As far as shooting is concerned I've only been out the odd night with the HMR on the golf course but it really hasn't been air rifle weather and because of that my poor
  14. Last pigeon turned right into that one wedge! Very clear footage - impressive. What do you use to record the footage, a camcorder or digital camera?
  15. Rubbish I'm afraid, unless that is of course your rifle is classed as a firearm (i.e over 12 ft/lb)
  16. Looks the part Phil! I use Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil. Probably the same stuff, certainly sounds like the same application routine. Might restart another application regime after reading this as it's spurred me on!
  17. .17 grn V-Max will be perfectly fine. In all cases with the HMR on fox, try to keep it at sub 100 yards and go for head shots only
  18. Nice shooting and great looking stock on the HW100!
  19. In west Yorkshire it is classed as firearm no matter what so its a closed ticket. Your only allowed to shoot on the land if it has been passed and you have written permission, which intern has been submitted to the firearms dept. Funny isn't it. Over here I'm on a closed ticket but only need to give my FEO a call on the mobile and I can be granted permission there and then; he's pretty familiar with the whole area.
  20. Secondhand, good condition HW100KT. £500 is what I sold mine for. You won't find a better rifle for that kind of money, or better rifle full stop!
  21. £2.50 per rabbit, good going! At that rate, if you've enough rabbits, you can get saving for some NV gear!
  22. Just look at the data and make up your own mind Oh and here's a video too: Winchester vs Hornady
  23. Sporting Shooter, are you sure about that, I'm sure I heard the .22lr was more affected by the .17 HMR?
