  1. the question is, to have the jab or not. I`m 55, had flu twice (influenza, not just a bug, there is a difference) and I have the flu jab every year, I even pay for it rather than wait for my GP to decide if I should get it, a covid jab is something I will get even if it only gives me limited protection, any out there still refusing to think its a serious problem needs a swift kick in the balls, I generally agree that it is not the killer the media and government make it out to be but at my age, and with other problems I have I`d rather not risk it
  2. prawn pins, not seen them for years, the hooks I`m after are 4:0 salmon doubles, another I`ve not seen for ages
  3. complete, only thing you need to add is wheels and some sort of mudguards, only way you could get away with a solid trailer would be to use wide, soft low pressure tyres, not practical if your going to do any road work and your dogs would`nt like you pretty sharpish
  4. Suspension Beam (350kg) Caddy 430 (towsure.com) something like this with the drawbar welded directly to it will be enough for your needs and compared to the price of individual indespension units it`s cheap, mils steel is fine as long as you understand dog piss is very corrosive, you`ll either end up replacing it again at some point or end up repainting it every year
  5. you two must be a couple of retired dinosaurs, 40 minutes for grub to appear on a plate is ok for the weekend but in the week when working I want grub on the plate sharpish when I get home, the slow cooker is ideal for that, bit of prep the night before and just switch on as I leave for work, get home and food is done, some of the most leathery, tough old (ancient) bits of animal come out well after a long bath with a few herbs or spices and some red wine
  6. depends on how much you want to spend, my ideal route would be new indespension units bolted to a standard "T" frame and the woodwork bolted down to that with mudguards screwed to the wood, your not looking at much weight so that should be ample, leaf springs are a pain, they increase ride height and unless you use a swing shackle on the trailing end it WILL eventually snap the ends off (building trailers is not economic, factor in time and components and you better off picking up a cheap halfords unit and modifying that to your needs, built many over the years but only due to having specific
  7. if you use a lot of beans in a slow cooker be aware that some types need hard boiling to kill of the toxins (even broad beans have a small poison content)
  8. used to use a 3 mobile dongle, get the right one and you can plug an extra aerial into it to boost signal, should be able to get a decent contract nowadays
  9. only if you want to experience sheer incompetence and learn how not to keep customers, avoid at all costs, still arguing with them over what they say is an unpaid bill (on a prepay account), sign up to this, MSE's Cheap Energy Club
  10. their all pink on the inside (if its brown your aim is off)
  11. if you use cups for measuring then for one person just under half a cup of rice, teaspoon of turmeric, bit under half of cumin seeds and if you have them a few cardamom pods (just try not to eat the pods, pick them out and bin them), makes the rice a bit more interesting, one thing I would recommend is buy a small note book and write down the mixes you try and put a note with it about the flavour, also don`t get hung up on only using spices for curries, the small salad potato`s are blinding when roasted with a good blend of spice to the point where you can squash them just enough to crack them
  12. once you get the hang of using spices you`ll get out of the habit of using pinches of stuff, teaspoons are the right measure, half of one should be the minimum of anything but hot chilli if your cooking for 2, I cocked up ordering turmeric and thought I`d end up throwing some away, ended up buying more, minimum size bag I buy is 100g, just store them well, jars with good seals and keep in a dark dry place
  13. cumin, coriander and turmeric, for chilli just get a jar of the pre chopped stuff from aldi unless you have a good veg shop close by to buy fresh from, garlic buy bulbs and if you follow Al`s recipes and need a load of it separate the bulbs into cloves then soak overnight in cold water, makes peeling them easier, end up doing 10 bulbs at a time in the local indian, the soaking also keeps the smell off your hands
  14. now we know why Ken was trying to perfect a recipe for a ruby, he`s invited her around to his gaff for a date, good luck pal but she might bit a bit too much for someone your age! ?
  15. you think Starmer would do a slightly better job, dream on, we`ve had labour running wales for years, the only thing they are managing to run is wales into the fecking ground, what this country needs is more people to get up off their fat arses and vote, just don`t vote for any of the mainstream party candidates as their main obligation is to the party, not the electorate
  16. Moira Stuart, if your going to throw in older ladies she has to go into the wank bank, used to listen to r2 just to hear her on Chris Evan`s show, think she has one of the sexiest laughs I`ve ever heard, get a strange tingle under my balls every time
  17. funniest tale of mistaken identity has to be from when my old school was a grammar school, brutal twat of a deputy head gave a new maths teacher a pasting on his first day for not having the correct uniform, would not believe he was a new teacher as he looked so young
  18. remove the bottle and give it a good clean in hot water, remove the jet if you can and soak it in white vinegar overnight then visit a garage and ask one of the lads there to give the pipes a quick blast, when you put it all back together stop being tight and buy screenwash, use it at a 50/50 mix, the alcohol acts as a sterilising agent and also stops it freezing
  19. keep a bar of chocolate or a couple of milky way`s handy for when you balls up the chilli levels, stops your mouth melting but your arris is on its own when it all exits, ghost chilli`s are the reason for keeping bog roll in the fridge
  20. OK, looks like your starting to take an interest in what your shoving into your gob, good for you, stocking up the right way with the spices as well, (small jars for a quid a time are a rip off), play with them, find out what you like and try altering things, one thing I would recommend though is write down what mixes you use and make notes of how it was, nothing worse than knocking up a smashing meal then not being able to get it the same again.
  21. the only way you`ll get veg and half a shoulder of lamb for a tenner is if you buy your veg, stick enough fuel in your motor to get out into the sticks and run around a field until you catch a lamb and chop a bit off, you need to get into a butchers or supermarket and see the price of lamb, as for the ability to cook meals now, spot on, boiling an egg is beyond too many now, I`ve said for ages that we are now so fecked that there are families where even the grandparents have no clue how to prepare a full traditional roast dinner from scratch, many even struggle to do microwave crap
  22. if it`s not the sliders it will be the piston, might have to use a bit of heat to free of the sliding pins, many now slag off copper grease but if you service your motor yourself taking the time to do the brakes every year is nothing, if piston pump it out, give it a good clean/polish then refit using a liberal smear of red rubber grease, if it went into a garage the first thing would have been a new calliper, fitter now don`t know how to repair or service items anymore
  23. when I worked in a local pub there was a couple of guy`s would call in after work, half of draught bass in a pint glass and topped with a gold label, 3 pints and they were stuffed
  24. bisley magnum`s are not hollow point, not tried the BSA pellets but still have about 5k magnums left
