  9. so loaded up my bitch n pup, once again let pup off lead to burn of some energy, open fields with some deep flooding, pup straight in, a joy to watch. then we made for a small copse. theres always summat festering in their, Nell made off into the copse , by the time I got there she was circling a big oak tree, so thought I would give the pup a try, slips the stinker with Nell on the slip lead, out the rabbit came out into the open, it gave the pup a good twist n turn run, I was egging her on, she twisted n turned with it, then struck, over the moon I was and still am, god help out that gets u
  10. not much for television, id much rather sit in my back garden watching the ferrerts have a shit, but my lady watches discovery, keeps her amused while im out with the dogs, if they do away with all those channels, i will cancel sky, a while back, i couldnt use my sky remote for the sound, rang em up, they wanted 20 notes for the code, my mate came round, tried a few code numbers, he sorted me out
  11. didnt like leaving her at home, and she greeted me well when i got back
  12. bitterly cold morning, ground to hard to run my pup, so buggered off out with just my whippet, didnt bother taking nets, ive done ok over the years without em, ferreted some hedgerows then into some woods to get out of the biting wind, she missed several bolts due to the thick undergrowth, but managed 3, plenty about to i could run a pack of dogs and put stuff in front of em, if only i was younger
  13. here she is now, had both dogs out yet again today, wall to wall sunshine, working some hedgerows nell one side of the hedges, me n the pup on tuther side, nell bolts a rabbit, through the hedgerows onto open flat land, slipped the pup, her first rabbit is hanging up n my shed
  14. taken a few weeks back, not the best of terrain for a pup, you can see the barbed wire to the right, but you have to start somewhere
  15. socks, very rare shes on the lead these days, but some places for her own safety i put her on a lead, like yesterday, one of the warrens i worked was riddled with barbed wire, elec fences, and under blackthorn bushes, so sometimes, i just sit back with her by my side, let her watch, when the rabbit bolts, and its safe to let her go , i do but im more than pleased the way in which she works the warrens, when my bitch goes in, no matter how thick the undergrowth, the pup will follow, and do her own thing, i was well pleased with her marking yesterday, more so than the actual catch
  16. Had a good breakfast then off out i went with Nell and my pup penny. i let the pup off the lead to burn off some energy, and boy has she got some, cant do nowt with her till she has had that first run, then i put her back on the lead and got down to some work, Nell straight away marked a warren, slipped a stinker and boom, one in the bag for Nell, with pup at my side looking on, later on into our mooch, nell marked again under some blackthorn bushes, cleared a passage to lay a couple of nets, i just have the 3 what i was given, anyways that was 2 in the bag, i wa more than happy with the 2 so
  17. cant be doing with sitting about, bit of rain does dont bother me or my dog, so off we went didnt take the camera cos of the weather, worked some railway bankings, heaving with bunnies, but really overgrown, so much so, the brambles ripped the zip from my coat, brambles wrapped around my legs, i was stuck good n proper, nell was busy digging away, so made a clearing best i could, and chucked in a stinker, next min came the squeal, so that was number 1 , came off the railway bankings to a wood which holds a good number, but once you get through the barbed wire, its a steep slope down to a strea
