L E D Or Halogen Lamps ? Lets Hear Your Views
MickyB replied to swg dave's topic in Hunting Equipment
Within the next 5 years everything will be LED mate, cree.is a good make depending on how the lamp is made once the LED has failed you might have to bin the lamp but they reckon you get about 50,000 hours from one LED plus they take less power so battery will last longer;) -
Happened to me mate cut the end off and put some tight spades on, its spot on now
-
I love creeping about with the lamp, but I love mooching around in the day couldn't say I have a favorite but with way things are I do a lot more lamping than daytime, when its all said and done I don't think there's owt better than watching a dog learn to find, flush, chase and catch its quarry. I'm pretty new to the lurcher game so I've a lot of experience to gain and a lot to learn so my opinion may change in future
-
i appreciate with any dog you have to put the time in i do. i just need to think long and hard on whats the best option for me and of course the dog. just trying to find out as much as i can before making my decision. its a big commitment. ideally i want to end up eventually with a good working dog. either raised from a pup or rescued it will have to be trained alot. Listen up young man,...training a lurcher is not hard.... Unless you are keen to get into some kind of competitive aspect of the running dog game,.racing, coursing,.sit and stay comps, kinda thing,...and simply want to have
-
I have been reading this reading this from the start its one of my favorites you treat your quarry with respect, alot of people could learn from this thread in the right way to show hunting online/publicly, good luck and all the best next season
-
If both dogs got few runs each and you can handle them both in the field what's the problem? there young its not really their first season yet its just experience, and they don't look like the type of dogs to lose confidence from a few misses, atb Gaf they a nice looking pair I'd like to see em in a few years time
-
If a coppers asking questions it means he's knows nothing, when they walk up to you and slap cuffs on with a big smile on his face that's when they have something!
-
Cracking vid that, wish I had that much to go at, went out for three hours last night got two runs! I'll save vid no.2 for later
-
With raw they normally shit less, its smaller, harder and black Thats right they look more like predator shits than big brown logs
-
Don't feed cooked bones that can splinter that wont do it any good
-
Raw all the way, I'd put a bit of research into it but imo you cant go wrong with raw meat and bone raw chicken wings are good but keep it varied
-
Problem with the media is bad news spreads further and wider than good news, "thugs train killer dogs to savage Bambi" or "local kids spend weekend ferreting", would you ever see the latter on the front page even though it happens 100x more than first? Facebook doesn't help as it gives idiots imediate access to millions more idiots, but was it not the ban that attracted half of these idiots to the game in the first place?
-
Nice set them two gaffer, are they from the same litter?
-
No mate lurcher to lurcher, bull from both sides Bulldeergrey x beddybullgrey so I'm told
-
My bitch in her first season coming on well
-
Not long in now, me and the dog are battered and bruised got some good runs really happy how she's coming on, she's still immature @ 14 month but she learnt a lot tonight Atb
-
Like that myself thinking about all day, been out on my own few times this week but not seen much, going to one of my mates places tonight see if we can change that, atb mate
-
Bit of a storm! I end up pulling dogs and quarry out of a boiling torrent that is usually just a hillside drain. Its been unreal up here. Frozen to the bone but happy as a pig in sh#t Haha! I've watchin out of window all day at work its not stopped all day, apparantly bypass close to me is already flooded but feck it waterproofs are going on
-
Bit a storm up in lancs but rains supposed to die down later on, but I'm going out either way
-
Who's risking it tonight? Its pretty windy up here, I am going but not sure if my pals going to back out, I think he might though!

Enjoyed reading this last night and this morning, I like to read about the older dogmen who know/knew there game I liked the story on pg.35 , it makes you realise how much effort we need to put in to do these dogs of ours justice, even more so in these poor times with evermore prying eyes on us. Atb Micky -
I like the look of that mate good luck with it pal
-
If he wants to get his end away just seperate them when your not there to save her the hassle, at least you not going to end up with unwanted pups
