  1. I enter mine young so to speak as I take my dogs out young on the lamp I just don't let the chase anything just let them watch and learn whats expected I do this from 4 months old till there old enough to run, so say if one of my older dogs have a fox, once dead I let my pup have ago. I do this from young to try better educate them for when times right. But to run and kill I let mine doubled up from 12 months if showing correct mentality and single about 14 months this has always worked for me and wouldn't try any sooner to prevent jacking in later life on them. All preban of course.
  2. dalmation x grey has already been done a breeding kennel in Wales has done a few litters of first x dalmation x grey they breed endless amount of dogs. mainly dalmation and collies they normaly have 5-6 litters there all the time, proper dog peddlers and they get away with it, there based in carmithenshire. they also breed collie grey aswel off useless stock. mrs was gona buy a pure collie off them 3 years ago for the yard until we viewed the kennels. gota of had at least 15 bitches they breed from, fxxk knows how they got kennel club reconised breeders, so rant over and sorry of topic
  3. Think they make great little dogs mine takes the big ears, smellies and the rabbits got few pics but I cant upload them, good little ferretters aswell. Only problem I've found can be little head strong but for bigger quarry it helps I think as they wont accept defeat lol
  4. I got a few pictures on my phone of my bed x whip but can't upload them, could I email someone a few and could they upload some for me
  5. I got in half hour a go just one Charlie, and a big un for me but enjoyed the walk that's what counts
  6. Have to agree lost count on how many seen tonight on the lamp, good night all in all
  7. Agree with you, what's people opinion on Charlie do they recon with a bright dog does it effect the distance you can call them into you obviously it's not gonna effect the running of either animals or quarry on the course but what about stalking up to quarry to get closer does this have any effect with a brighter dog, in my experience I havnt had any probes what about you guys
  8. No point with the 22amp might as well have the 17amp and just charge it when at home ready for next night ,no point carrying extra weight rabbits weigh enough when the numbers get up. Just my views lol
  9. I've got mixed views lol i don't think it makes much of a difference but brighter dogs are easier to keep track of in the lamp and my blue dog seem invisible almost lol wonder if the bunnies make the same observation haha lol but one thing I could say is do any of you guys wear cammo or dark cloths or do you wear anything. As you could argue the same with that
  10. She is defiantly no expert and with time on training you shouldnt have to many problems getting them to retrieve, but if you do, all dogs have hitches but its all about moving them through it and all I can say with that is time, there are to many people expect to much to soon and give up. So in all the more time you spend with it the better the dog so you control the outcome, sorry for the essay lol
  11. I've been out a few times here and there on full moon, sometimes I could get one and I can remember one night last season I got 13 which was a shocker and it was in a place I would of probably struggled with good weather lol but it was first day on some new permission so used it just to learn the land and exercise the dogs mainly
  12. How old is he/she in the pic, nice looking animal
  13. It's a dominance issue, it should be corrected as soon as he tries it. It's nothing to do with being horny there are more breeds more prone to doing this it's to show there top dog in the pack and if there trying it on humans it's there way of saying they see them selves as top of the pack so all I can advise is correct it every time it does this
  14. I've got a low grade title under my name doesn't mean crap, even tho I've lamped for 13 years, so your saying someones knowledge in the working field is by how many post on thl you have, don't think so some how lol so ROOKIE HUNTER or not lamping at 17 weeks not the right thing to be doing
  15. cant say iv had any experience with them, heard theyr good as a greyhound x. I have a miniature poodle with high prey drive (14"tts) she's too slow for bunnies but is great at ratting. My 8 month old is a standard and currently 26"tts, he's still very immature but loves to run and chase shadows twisting and spinning for no reason lol. If i can channel him into bunnies i reckon he'd be a great dog to work with. let us know how that goes. heard folk slate them. people shouldnt judge a dog by looks. wasnt the poodle a french working dog but faded out and be come a show lovers dog
  16. i'd agree, only thing i would add is i'd make sure they had at least 5 seasons behind them and excelling in there field that they work and on the grey side at least a stud or bitch thats proven to throw good working pups but preferre that on both sides, my best f1 type dog (saluki x) was off a 9 yr old sire and a 6.5 yr old dam that had prievious litters and there offspring matched the quality of parents so on the second and last litter bred off them i had a pup, best dog ive owned so far. sorry for the essay
  17. I'd agree I would leave him a little longer but I would keep letting him watch the older dogs at there jobs on the fox and sooner or later the penny should drop
  18. Hope you find her soon all the best mate
  19. Has it been out when your other dogs have caught and killed one most times they just need to know there aloud to do it, my first Lurcher was the same would run it but half hearted, he was a bit unsure then i took him out with my mates dog and watched one being killed and he had a go on it then there was no going back, turned out to be an all right fox dog
  20. cheers for the advice mate ive took it all in and for sure it will be used in the next up and comin season when shes ready to start, thanks again
  21. agree 100% mate, plus noticed all the rabits are out ,think its the fear of being flooded underground
