working lurchers/whippets and flapping dogs
paulsmithy83 replied to darren lurcher's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i've never put up a dog just because it has scars, in my post i said both dogs being equal the 'scarless' one would get it,it is a beauty show after all, it's just that scars or a let down toe type injury caused by work in my eyes doesn't take away from conformation, structure balance etc, and if anyone has approached me after a show i've given them my honest view, do we really need to know the function of the thoracolumbular fascia or the importance of the length and angle of the dorsal bones (which i do) in order to recognise the correct balance and movement in a running dog ? sometimes a do -

Once And For All Are Boosters A Con

i thaut live vaccines have been around for ages? Nobivac parvo-c is a live vaccine, if you look at the clinical data it states the immunity lasts for at least 3 years. the reason its called live is because its a small dose of the actual illness that you want them to get immunity to and can be shed in small amounts for 8 days after vaccination and the animal can show symptoms of the illness vaccinated against, most vaccines start out as live vaccines. the safer vaccines are now killed so there is no risk of shedding the disease/virus after vaccination or showing the clinical symptoms of the ill -
Which one - live or modified live? and which company does your dad work for? most vets give live vaccines my own dogs have been done with dhppi, A live vaccine is a vaccine in which the live infectious agent is weakened through chemical or physical processes in order to produce an immune response without causing the severe effects of the disease in the animal that is vaccinated. recomendations from the data sheet Booster vaccination It is recommended that dogs be revaccinated with canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus every 3 years and against canine pa

A vaccine would be impossible to cover all strains so I've been told as like any virus they evolve but most of the common strains the new vaccine has a defence for as it works in a different way it stops the virus before the immune system gets to work hence why it's more versitile. My dad did say tho this new vaccine is 100 times better then the old as it's defence is better, just only last for 12 months and by say 13-14 months you got no protection at all it would be like your dogs never been injected

Well got news for you fellas my dad works in making and designing these types of vaccines and also designs and test performance enhancing products for dogs. Boosters ARE nessecery now as they've change the way the vaccine works before it used to give you dog small amounts of each virus to train and teach your dogs immune system to fight the viruses and as a result have better immunity for life, similar to our meningitis jabs and such, well that's all changed. company's who make the vaccines realised much more money could be made by altering the vaccine to work in another method it now works in

there is animals what you can run in this country which can weigh up to 5 times the weight of a bull x. What that bite back, yes there's boar that on odd occasion will bite but most don't and if talking in deer that's a different subject as they kick not bite. Always been brought up with gameness in a dog is for fighting dogs who take on something equal in weight and power that bite back not being kicked. in my opinion deer takes hardness and prey drive in a dog not gameness

I think ideation is right I would class a little beddy/whip (smallest type) taking a dog fox that I would defo class as game but a big bull cross that's defo tenacity for in my eyes the bull x should be against a bigger stronger animal then fox for it to be classed as game which we don't have so I don't feel big bull x's are game. Now take that bull x out of the uk and even the odds run it after a wolf or something of the same weight and fight then you can say you got a game bulk x

Can't believe you think that, I know of alot of deer dogs preban that find fox easy but yet I see alot of fox dogs used for teeth and rabbits who havnt done much deer ,get one big kick off a stag and be seriously hurt and never even look at a deer again. Remember deer when they turn on your dog can be fatal. One head butt like they do when they rut it's all over even with a head on a bull x never heard of a adult dog being killed by a fox tho.

beddy x bull running dogs
paulsmithy83 replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The sire to one of my dogs is a first x beddy/whip x bull/whip/grey 22tts rough coated. Took any quarry you stuck in front of him. Shame had to be retired early but the owner was a knob so didnt deserve a dog of that caliber anyway lol just shame on the animal -
Yes was thinking along the same lines as Was thinking if he was a worker might of made some good base blood for a lurcher. My mates doesn't get the opportunity to work as such just a gentle stroll on a playing field but you can see the prey drive in him. Had a few pheasants off the park and such and odd rabbit just never seen a true field.

Probably a few but why advertise the fact on here. I know a few lads who run the big land just because they don't shout it from the roof tops don't mean it don't happen. Don't blame them really most genuine welsh lads keep there sport exclusive to them selves also Doesn't help with Wales having highest dog theft numbers.

Hi a mate of mine has a collie x bedlington. It doesn't work. just wondered if anyone else has one at if there any good. You don't here of them being bred often so just wondered of the motives behind them. As it can't be much cop for lamping as there's no sighthound in em so really only leaves ferreting and cover work. Whats people views on the cross. And if got pics post em up

Think you've summed it up perfect there fella, good post

Yes good dog men can do better justice to dog and I'm a strong believer in that, but no disrespect coming from the greyhound game which is mainly based on blood I would of thought you would have a different view. I'm yet to meet a greyhound trainer or owner not wanting the best blood, would you own a greyhound off parents that have never raced. In greyhounds blood means everything otherwise why the stupid prices for studs and good broods with great form. As said no disrespect meant, alot of good dogs cone from Hancock but also alot of bad but you would expect that with the amount they breed. B

all dogs are jackers mate, sorry tae burst yer bubble, ye push them hard enuff an they jack.......................simples yep any fool can jack a dog,but 7/10 its the owners more than the dog looking for the world beater, dont get me wrong jackers are born but more are made by the owners, i understand people have stanards but these top notch dogs that you can push and push are very few and far apart every dog haves its limits its knowing them Also mate it's how you push it, take a piece of springy wood for a bow for example, if you bend it gently and slowly you can bend it quit
