  1. f**k OFF its true mate. distance is measured by a gps watch for running, down to 100th of a mile. But why??? A pup needs to waste its energy running, jinking, pulling things, playing, etc, etc, etc, not f*****g walking. Is this all on hard roads? Your doing untold damage IMO Theres been research on both sides of this some top vets believe dogs are like gold fish and thrive in a larger environment. Which is what i believe ,These walks are alot better then shoved in a pen for most of day where different types of damage can be done and trigger is right to a point exercise in pu
  2. So should make a good size then. Intresting cross not so long back I saw an Alsatian x run and was very shocked and impressed considering it was his first night on the lamp. never heard of a malamute cross before looks very impressive in the photo

  5. Mate your just embarrassing yourself, I'd keep your mouth shut as you seem to know feck all. And only comment on what you do really know which by the seems of things will be very little
  6. ive owned one from a young pup not an ex racer tho, mine in general was alot better then expected in first instance, great recall could work on or off slip, would judge her pace and only use it when time was right, and could turn like a whippet lol never retrieved live to hand but would retrieve them dead to a few meters away so on a whole to me she was just a super fast lurcher .took rabbit, hare, fox preban of course but the problem with it was injury, at 15 months retired to a pet home and now used in my breeding line when i need to add little more pace to the mix. a few friends have tried
  7. If he showing signs get him working could do with more working(hunting) collies out there if he does well for his breed he'll make a good stud dog as a base breed to those who like the collie x' greys as it's coming hard to find tested hunting collies there's only few about now a days
  8. about 5year ago friend of mine who is a head estate game and keeper of red deer pens and recons it has been done and that they have came across a group of lads poaching them in the pens to high success with dogs that got the skill and using terrian and fence to there advantage they came right pain in the ass for him as they cut the antlars off them as a trophy, onced despatched and they leave the rest there, which realy dont agree with, hate people who leave there catch if edible but he could never catch that group of lads in the pen just find the mess the next day he said by the wounds it loo
  9. fair play to ya mate for helping the fella out
  10. Look pal unless you can answer the questions posted and reply with an answer that can be backed up,with proof/reasoning ,then piss off and go play with the cars on the motorway, cos your`e not helping. Coming from you, your last two post have just been bitching and not exactly answering the questions in the topic so your just as much as a nob you hipper crit and to the topic my answer is I have an all right dog here at the mo that can do a reasonable amount preban of course as prob many owners on here have but being honest my old timer in her prime was my best bitch I ever owned on

  13. make good boar dogs, and probly make a good digging companion and to be fair very similar to 3/4 bull so they might just serve there perpose what is the exact breeding of the sire and as said theres been far worste x's about, i would hope to think they also would be a good guard dogs a good deterrant to keep thiefs at bay
  14. shes gone to a cracking home, hes a game keeper of a large estate just down the road from me which is great so i can still see her and been offered a few days on the shoot next season so can see how shes coming on in the field, had a call a few hours after he rehomed her letting me know shes settled in well, rehoming her was one of the hardest decisions ive made and im gutted in a way as i know ive lost a good un with her going but it was best for her and thats what counts and happy shes settled in well
  15. my thoughts exactly, bad ownership in my view, get the dog fit for whats required of him then give it a go imo
  16. i agree with letting them breed to build there numbers in most places as rabbits are definatley fining out, apart from odd exceptions, i had a call off a farmer last night who had been givin my number by a local farmer for help we had a lengthy chat on the phone which ended up me takin me lamp to walk round the boundries of his land with the farmer and for me to get my bearings ready for when i go as the farm next to him was very strick and advised no boundry hoping as there type of people to ring police and known for the big ears so wont be a good out come. so made sure i know boundries with
  17. hi all i got a loverly springer for sale, BASED IN WORCESTERSHIRE shes 6 months old, both parents gundogs and general moochers already showing good potential, got a great nose and loves water and will retrieve out , a dummy (90% of the time)getting better by the day very bidable, lives at the mo sometimes inside sometimes out, house trained . great home is essential and must go to a working home, price to be arranged at viewing and trial, When i say trial obiously shes to young to be trained but you can see her off lead in woodland and field and even water but no sensible offer refused, reason
  18. its all guess work with pups all you can use as a rough guide is parents hight and thats only rough lol just gives you a little indication
  19. Totally agree better worker to worker, then to breed off untested muts no mater pure or crossed.
  20. I'd agree my original Intentions was to work him and if he made the grade add him to my breeding program to add abit more pace to my stock, he was surprising and no different to my lurchers part from poor recovery after a large run 800yards plus but would recover eventually but I used to take him with 2 other lurchers and slip alternative and would only take him 2 times a week where as my other lurchers was out 4-5 times a week so he had time to recover. But could manage a hard niight on the lamp which Was The most shocking, just shame was injury prone but can't have it all lol
  21. I had one not to long back had him from 5 months old but had to retire him at 18 months old due to broken hock. Try find a few photos out for you
  22. i would have to agree with cp a higher percentage of beddie/greys make alrounders then beddie/whips i own both and at mo, i would struggle to say which is the better one, but as you first said you only want rabbit so this is irrelevent to you. but for just rabbits your on the right track fella
  23. get a golf trolly battery 17amp hr will do fine pick one up for £15-£20 last around 10hours lamping so no worry of it dying on you. and lamp worth buying your self a lance, striker or blitz depending on field size they range from £60-£100 depending on which model you need
  24. A cross I'm very interested in, be good to hear what peoples views of them are as I hope to own one when the times right
  25. or you could be lamping to often on the same piece of land and everything has been made lamp shy and just move off before you get to that field, sounds that way from what you've wrote
