I would have the dew claws removed within the first 5 days of the pups being born. In your case [6 months] I woudn't bother getting them removed unless they are giving the dog some grief.

Getting 1 rabbit means you have not "blanked",nothing worse than having to tell your mates you had a blank last night. I was out with Amy last night,we walked 11 fields and only saw 2 rabbits,she missed the first one even though she took a few clumps of fur out of it. It wasn't untill we got into the last field that she had her second run which she caught. Then again if she had missed it,it might not have been the last field.

How many cottages does Lumley need? She bought one up the Scaur Glen a few years back,gutted it from top to bottom and has flying visits to it every so often.

Both me and my mate have AA 410's,I use Crossman Accupel and Jimmy uses Air Arm Field pellets,both do the job.

That's a brave statement Molly,especially in todays climate.I must say that I agree with you 100%. The trouble is we don't live in an ideal world. On wednesday last week I was at the vets to get a greyhound checked out,there was 2 oldish labradors in the waiting room and the owners got talking about how upset/stressed their dogs got when they brought them to the vets and it didn't help when they had to wait over 30 min to be seen.

I didn't watch the vid, I can imagine what it's like. The ears are tattooed and if someone plans to dump the dead dog in a ditch it can't be traced back to them if the ears are gone! What Mike says is right but what I can't understand is some of the dogs with their ears cut off are still alive. I've said for years that there is a lot to be said for putting a dog to sleep rather than giving it away,especially when you see how some of them end up.

I use either Drontal plus or Pancure,both do the job. The price to worm them depends on the weight of the dog.

Rain rain and yet more rain It was on with the waterproofs and out into the fields again with Amy walking alongside.I tried a different farm tonight and although most of the fields were saturated with water their were a few bunnies out. Amy aquitted herself well putting 10 rabbits in the bag,she's starting to settle down a bit when she's on the arse of a rabbit and now realises it's not all about raw pace.
