  1. Dont be daft, you can tell that is a rabbit On a similar note, my very first thread on a hunting forum many years ago. I titled it 'Alive without a brain' i got called an anti for writing it... Basically one of my young lurchers caught a rabbit, when i got to it, she had eaten its head and one front leg, the chest was open to see inside and the heart was till beating. I stood for 6 minutes and it kept going just as strong. Now 6 mins is a VERY long time for a heart to beat in a headless animal but it did happen
  2. Sets can be a colloquial term for a multitude of animals Good to hear, you did come across a bit blase earlier, so sorry for being a bit blunt
  3. God bless your poor wife then Johnny, i only see Lil occasionally, and that is MORE than enough
  4. For me personally, a good dog is not as easily disposable as that, each to their own
  5. I know where you are coming from Johhny..ask Moll what this is like with her dog's..once it has tired one out it move's onto the next.. ..and her dog's are fit as fook but they can only take so much of this pup..i had her on the beach for a hour earlier..she come home and went to sleep for 15min's and now on and off for the past 2hr's she has been hammering my dog's.. Ive had a few pups over the years but never one like this. I can hand on heart say she is horrible, not the kind of pup you want in the house. She never stops, is dominant over the dogs, and has been since she was small,
  6. The point was I am a novice on my best day. There is a ton of practical knowledge here that a person in my shoes could probably benifit from. There are types of hunting that I feel qualified to speak on. This isn't one of them. That's all. You keep contradicting yourself, which is confusing for someone like me to answer. I presumed your first post was along the lines you are a novice, and what should you do....my answer was if you do not know what you are doing then dont let your dog enter such difficult places. Then you reply, you have hunted like this for years. Then you replied to my
  7. What was the point in the question then
  8. If you don't already know the answer, i wouldn't take your terrier unleashed in places like that
  9. Some dogs are more susceptible to garlic and it can cause serious problems. One of mine died from haemolytic amemia, one of the causes can be garlic. I did panic a bit at the time as i was using horse garlic in with the dogs food from time to time......and i still had to 'properly' worm the dogs! Garlic will not worm dogs, just another one of those tales that go around from time to time. Anyone remember when people swore blind washing up liquid cleared fleas
  10. My anti-media radar went up as soon as i read this. I now tend to look at things from the way organisations like the rpsca tend to bend truths. 1/ "Possibility one of the dogs was starved to death" = working lurchers can look underweight at the end of the season, especially once dead and the body starts to lose hydration! 2/ Cannot understand why on earth someone who did not care about the dogs would go to the trouble of wrapping them in blankets and burying them...much easier ways of disposing of an unwanted animal. These dogs could have died from neglect, but then again there ar
  11. Some of them are keeper photos, ones you will look back on in years to come...lovely.
  12. Never doubled any young dog up on anything. I'm a great believe if they are gonna do it, they are gonna want to do it themselves. Imo doubling up may cause more problems than benefits
  13. She is stunning ....should have been mine
  14. Dont know if they are the cheapest? http://www.daf-petfood.co.uk/wb/pages/products/daf-frozen-foods.php
  15. Gorgeous Paul, thank you. The ones i was after at the time would be large frames for wall hanging.
  16. I do and i dont like. I like the way he has captured movement, and how they actually look like the animals they portray. But i am not taken with the medium, it reminded me straight away of this type of image...
  17. must be someone on line that does them --- i had a load from our £1 shop bought a book of 1920s erotic art from a carboot cut the photos out and framed them .. Not at the time. Wanted some oak type wooden frames with this type of deco design on it... Knew in my minds eye what i wanted, need to learn how to make them myself
  18. My fav recent purchase is this 5ft long 19th century hunting frieze from an auction house. Got it rather cheap as someone had painted it white. You could not make out the characters due to this so i highlighted them in a transparent gold....not a gaudy looking as the photos make out with the camera flash, you normally cannot make out the gold. Without the flash.
