  1. This half x collie/grey was plenty strong enough...never reached the reserve stamina tank...he'd go on and on and then some...had the best feet ever...sadly didn't make an old dog...
  2. Aye cracking rabbiting dogs...very quick and agile and nimble...caught loads with this...
  3. I would have thought with 41 farms to cover your dog wouldn't need to be running beside a car. Come on bud use your brain she is 10 month old and it's out of the season just complete idiots keep replying with stupid replys atb I would have thought with 41 farms to cover your dog wouldn't need to be running beside a car. Come on bud use your brain she is 10 month old and it's out of the season just complete idiots keep replying with stupid replys atb So she's old enough to batter along on tarmac beside the car, but too young to go a creep about at first or last light?. 4. Penny is certainly very helpful and has provided me with good sound advice in the past...she has also mailed me chapters of her book...it's always good to hear other folks' viewpoints and even though I am getting pretty long in the tooth I'm not past learning from others...thanks Penny
  5. What you gonna hunt with them mate???
  6. Did you just think of some random numbers there mate and join them together with something resembling words??? Dunno where you get those figures from...what do you base these statistics on???

But there is a big difference between having a rake about with the dog and catching a few bunnies to working the dog for 8 hours a day catching bags of 50 plus and doing this day in day out all year round ......... you are out the most on here socks your the man I didn't say I was out the most just trying to explain the difference in doing it for a job compared to a mooch ............

  9. You bet...fkn place is full of them... I agree. I supported the lad yesterday...but as per usual this kind can't help themselves and resort yo the usual "shut ya mouth" crap...it's exactly what's wrong with this sport...
  10. Just came in for lunch and wish to revise the above... There's some tossers and testosterone on this thread now eh??? My cock's bigger'n yours kinda thing... Moocher123 you come across as a real wanker...
  11. Jumping's important...it's also the easiest thing you'll ever get a pup to do...but I'm never in a great hurry, especially with bigger heavier types...immature, weak pasterns and wrists a heavy pup is a recipe for disaster...seen one or two totally fecked up with over keen jumping training when they are too young...
  12. Can't understand why you'd put a retrieve before stock breaking...I'd far sooner walk half a field to pick up a rabbit than spend half the night chasing a mutton muncher up hill and down dale...luckily I have no worries on either score... A dog that ain't sound with stock won't last half an hour here...wall to wall sheep and cattle...wool as far as the eye can see... I've had that 'over the brow' sinking stomach feeling too many times with other folks dogs...fair play to you though for turning down offers of nights out...I've had folk turn up with dogs that are shit with stock and in
  13. Spot on... IMG_0790.JPG IMG_0782.JPG gave away a paracord slip....same design as that.... to ruby16 off here.... only difference was mine had a thick paracord weave at the front....to take pressure Nice touch...thoughtful, caring as well as aesthetically pleasing...far too bonnie for these ugly dugs...
  14. She got to you when you were here Rob eh??? She has an infectious personality and is a bitch you'll not forget in a hurry that's for sure... I'll call you tomorrow... Take care mate... Colin
  15. This topic is an ideal example of the diversity of not only the dogs we keep but also of the lads and lasses who keep them...what works for one, may well not work for another...and what has worked for one dog in the past may not suit your next dog or next breed of dog...
  16. I have been in Hancock's company in the past when he's taken a phone call and advised a potential client that perhaps his dogs ain't what they are looking for...probably can't get much fairer and straighter than that...
  17. Recall first...if you ain't got that right you ain't going nowhere...never ceases to amaze me how many supposedly 'trained' dogs have poor recall...does my f***ing head in... Just couldn't cope with that...
