  1. James...I'll swap you my Moucher's Tales...for 2500 fox nets... I'll send you it if you want to read it...just send it back when you're done mate???
  2. Yes mate, moved some into the garage. And they are def working, the rats have been emptying them and i've been finding very sleepy looking rats about the place and killed a few. The hound has dug a few nests out and marked a few adults that we've killed! She found them in the quad. unusual to find rats that have eaten poison, once they start to feel the effects they usually find somewhere dark and quiet to go and die, Well the one died very 'un-quietly'. . . . my old man spotted it lying in the chicken run, looking stoned. And belted the shit out of it with a bit of 2x4. Coupl
  3. Collie... Dunno Emma I can see a wee look of Manchester Terrier or Italian Greyhound in the mix...
  4. I worked as a hill shepherd for many years when I was a youngster...I worked sheep and cattle with my collies and also hunted them alongside my lurchers and terriers...and lamped rabbits with them too. Had some grand days and lots of good memories. Many times when I was on the hills herding/gathering sheep my collies would put foxes up and run and kill them and they were pretty good at it too. They would ignore rabbits when they were on the sheep job but foxes and deer were much too tempting...
  5. Yeah...dinner was good...Jacqui's a great cook...totally spoils me... You were a whole day late for the apple pie mate...and there was a cheescake in fridge but I didn't fancy eating it at that time in the morning??? I've since indulged though...

  9. Had a visit from Whin today - he brought me a cracking hindquarter of beef for the dogs... ...the thing was still warm too... Top notch grub for the dogs...we set about it and had it boned out and cut up and bagged in no time at all...safe to say neither of us will get work as butchers... ...the dogs'll still eat it tho...
  10. glad someone had a good season, my biggest bag was 4 last season, but its not really the numbers i go for, not everyone has the permission with big numbers or even room to keep a spare freezer to keep the spare in for the spring/summer when feeding kits, people are in different situations, Seriously mate...it is each to their own...I'm just stating the way I do things here... Tell you what though, if throughout the season I can't put enough surplus flesh away to feed a couple of litters of ferret kits I'll hit this game on the head and take up origami... .... And pass your permis
  11. Seriously, I would ditch the Wilsons...muesli...dog's just ain't meant to eat that stuff...it's truly vulgar... Up the raw...add some veg and pasta, tinned oily fish and a good quality complete that has meat as the main ingredient...play around a bit...what works for someone else's dogs might not work for yours... Dog looks well...but it'll look even better if you ditch the Wilsons... This is worth a read...I certainly wouldn't feed it to my dogs... http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showproduct.php?product=1961&cat=all thanks for that info mate, I got a sack
  12. Did you pay £50 each for these??? lol. nope....just kidding.... but that black one would qualify
  13. Ah reckon you should phone Jeremy Kyle son...FFS...
  14. Did you pay £50 each for these???
  15. I find it strange that rescues rehome ferrets and still breed their own (OK you say the odd time) but other rescues are churning them out to sell Y.I.S Leeview selling under the name of the ferret rescues Peddler... makes me laugh....colour of a ferret isnt even judged if thats what floats your boat..... Good ferret can't be a bad colour eh??? Personally I don't give two rows of sheep shit what colour a ferret is, white, dark or sandy, silver, blue or green...and if it was a real grafter I'd be happy with a couple o tartan jills...
  16. Now Joe, it's okay you sitting with the feet up but what about my longnet and basket set up....??? Glad your on the right road mate...if there's anything I can do...just give me a shout...take care lad... Thanks Colin, hey mate that is part of my rehab, it will be sorted and I look forward to being able to do it. Spot on that Paul...Joe's one of life's good guys...he's been good to me in the past...and certainly well respected by many on here...
  17. For me it's landscape driven...simple...average field size around here can't be much more than 20/30 acres surrounded by walls and wire (electric, plain, rylock and electric) and hedges...so saluki blooded dogs and large deerhound types would be wasted here far too much talent for what I need...the ground is rough hill land, forestry and stony, ditches, rivers, burns, sikes and gulleys, whins, bracken and gorse...so small whippets are gonna get broken seen and had it happen...collie xs suit me and where I run my dogs...my son has an alaunt x bull/grey who seems to be able to cope with what we
